the SRT is great in a straight line, but when i put it through the twisties, it's actually a little 'scary.'

100% correct. We all know when we see comparisons between 2 cars and the SRT-6 does better than expected on the track...it's because of the brute force on the straights.

Nissan has now nearly duplicated that straight line speed.....and put it in a body that is BETTER handling than a 350Z.

Pretty damn awesome.

Just being realistic.

I can't say that the Bodys of the Srt's will last longer than the Nissan, it seems that Daimler used the Cheapest materials and lowest cost corrosive treatments on the Crossfire when they built it. I have found that Chryslers usually never rust over the long term. They have much better rust resistance than the Asian companies.

But what I was referring to was the powertrain. I believe that the mechanical duribility will be superior in the Daimler & Chrysler vehicles over the long haul. Besides Chrysler has a lifetime powertrain warranty, so you can bet their banking on long term reliability & durability. And from my experience they have always had strong powertrains. They had quality problems in the past, but the powertrains have always been strong.

Thanks Antonio, I just wanted to be clear on what you meant. I can't say I agree with ya, because I've had Hondas with over a 1/4 of million miles on them with no mechanical problems. But on the same token I have a 99 Chevy Van with over 260k on it. But it's been in the shop many times because of a lot of stupid things wearing out, or needing replaced that never did go wrong on the Hondas. Of course my 1992 Honda Civic's body did eventually disintegrate.

I'm just thinking that if this car had a VAG that you'd try screwing this thing! Or worse yet I don't want to find out that you got caught doing this!

I'm telling you right now. If it were possible, there are several cars in this world I'd love to violate.

Unfortunately thats true, the cheap non-SRT Crossfires have gears etc. that are made from cheaper non-hardened steel. The SRT has all the best materials in them and we get steel made from old oil tankers etc.

They are most probably made from the same specification steel with the same heat treatment process, any changes would be in the strength of the design, that is beefier.
How long do you think non-hardened steel would last in the drive-train gears anyway?
