Changed my driver side plus today, passenger side Friday
First time doing it and a bit overdue. I have been putting it off for a while and dreading it. I took my time and I finished in about 2 hours. Looks like the car might have been running a little rich. I don't know if it's the race gas or the 93 Chevron but it really turned the tips a rusted color.
Also had two different style plugs in there. Passenger side Friday.

7000 miles.
I have had the car for 18 months now. I don't know if they are the original factory plugs? They are Bosch. I replaced them with 1 step colder NGK Irridium.

Theses have Merc symbols as well , but they are Bosch. Maybe someone screwed up or they just went with the cheap stuff?

Fine and correct are two different things and a lot of time on the E.T. Slips you speak so highly of.
Like I said maybe my monitor is of but to me they look one thing RICH. And, whats with that top photo he should be interested in all of the plugs not only the two that you say look "fine".
Take them to a Good speed shop and just ask if there is anyone there that is GOOD at ready Plugs and show him those And by all means take them allAfter you check the gap on them.
Look very rich to me.
So what does everyone run for plugs? I gotta do mine. Do these really take that long?
It took me about 2.5 hrs to do all 16 on my Hemi 2 weeks ago. I was thinking these 12 could be done in under an hr.

I just took a couple pics. They all look about the same. The straps and electrodes are all intact with no real signs of wear. Like I said my AF ratio has been 11.0-12.5, so I knew I was running rich and this confirms it. I'd rather be rich and safe though. Once I get this Code3 pulley boosting right it should be all good.
I am pretty slow, especially being my first time on this car. The hardest part for me was getting the boots off. I bought a set of universal boot pliers but they weren't quite the right tool for the job and I had to bend them to get a good angle on some of the boots. The magnetic socket with swivel extension worked perfect. I just had to push the heat shield in a small amount for that last plug to clear. I am sure it could be done faster, especially with better tools.

The NGK Iriduims are supposed to last a while, which I believe are standard from the factory. A lot of new cars can go 100k before a tune up, so the manual states. Obviously at some point my plugs were swapped for these Bosch. I got the car from Bonham TX with only 20 miles on it. Either they swapped them or someone else did when I had it in for service.
The only reason I pulled them was to go one step colder for the Nitrous or else I'd never known.

Same plugs and temp range I went wiith. ( I gapped mine at .036 -.037 per NGK)
I used a 18MM open ended wrench (with the factory plug wires) and my other hand clenched in a fist as leverage to pop off the metal boot.
Worked like a champ...
