Default Question for those in the know. Just installing Code 3 pulley and CAI?

So if I just install the Code 3 supercharger pulley and cold air intake, will I have to install a tune to prevent engine damage? I don't have, nor do I want to add any A/F gauges. I want a sleeper roadster I can drive everyday. Eventually it willl get the Johnson pump also.

I was also thinking about porting, (gasket matching) the stock manifolds and Y pipe. What effect will this have on A/F ratio using stock ECU?

Am I making a mistake doing any of it? I don't want issues!

Thanks for your help, Mike

You don't NEED a tune with just the Code3 pulley and a CAI. I ran that exact setup for months with no issues (including many trips to the dragstrip).

I put on the code 3 pulley and Code 3 intake 2 months ago and still commute with it. I took it to a 1/8th mile track and pulled 8.1 seconds at 88mph with OE all season tires! You don't need any more parts but heat soak can be a problem on hottest days. I will have to build a needwings style intake to help.

P.S. I have full set of SRT-6 wheel 4 sale if anyone wants them!

You should be fine, your computer will make the adjustments, after some time on the road!

The computer should be able to handle the pulley and CAI just fine.

I would guess porting the y pipe and intake manis would not yeild any results to make it worth your time.

I have done all the above with great gains. I did the gasket matching on the heads and intake manifolds along with LET thermal spacers and felt better responce. My first dyno was over 300 h/p though I dont remember right now.

The Cai does little to the F/A and the code 3 gave me up to about 17 PSIG AT THE MANIFOLD, not the wye which is artifically higher due to friction losses in the intake piping , especially the factory manifolds. This is why the needswings and 240xxxx manifolds flow so much better.

Bottom line, it will be great and do just fine. You can check my threads under my earlier account "Woody Woodworth" for the how to of the port matching of heads and intake. Enjoy, Woody
