I'm pretty new here and am getting a 2005 SRT6 Roadster next week. So..I was wondering what kind of issues you are dealing with in AZ and the HEAT? Do you all run intercoolers? Do you have issues with the back window? Etc....

Cheers!
Mike

Did you buy the one in Tucson on ebay? I don't run an intercooler or an upgraded pump and so far no issues with my setup. I'm running the 178 with all the needswings goodies and InMotionUSA tune. I've had mine since 2007. Still the fastest on the west coast and the fastest around without any cooling mods.

I'm in Sierra Vista and have two SRT's. I did have issues with the supercharger shutting down due to heat on my first car. I made a Dual Flow Heat Exchanger to replace the stock heat exchanger and haven't had a problem since. I got my second SRT (roadster) last week and the first thing I did was make and install another Super Cooler for it.
Just so happens I JUST posted a HOW TO on the Super Cooler. Check it out HERE.

Hey Cruzinquick. You only drive 1/4 mile at a time. Make that beast yer daily driver and see how it holds up when you REALLY drive it!

Cruzinquick can help you with this. I believe he has stock intercooler and pump and gets great 1/4 times with just intake, pulley and tune!

Nope, got this one in WA.

I like the discussion on the supercooler, catch can, spliter, etc. I think I"m going to have to do the Needswings dual setup as well. COOLER is always better! Especially in AZ. As far as I can tell this car is stock. Sorry but my butt hasn't even been in the seat yet.

Luckily I'm working temp in LA so it's going to see the beach for the summer.

So.. what does the tune involve? Is it just a chip replacemnt or pulling the ECU? Sorry...I'm more old school MOPAR.

After I get it to breath better I can work with the exhaust. I'm not a track or street racer just an entusiast.

I've been driving it lately put 200 miles in the last week. That's alot for me. It must be because I have a 178 pulley and not anything bigger. That must be the limit our stock cooling can take. In LA traffic you won't be WOT enough to overheat your supercharger. In stop and go traffic your SC barely engages. It's preference though, consult with Rob at Needswings and he'll let you know whats in your best interest. I'll probably add one at somepoint when my stock one fails. Currently I'm more concerned of the weight consequences. It's all about a tenth of a second for me.

The needswings intake is going to make it feel like a different car altogether. The ecu tune requires that you remove your ecu and send it out if you choose InMotionUSA or LET. Both companies do offer a mobile tune with a deposit, but much easier just to send it out overnight and get it back 2 days later. Also there is SpeedInnovations or Automotive Connoisseur Group Inc of San Diego in california.

I've been happy with InMotion and the tune is the best out there in my opinion. Many will argue that, but the numbers don't lie.

Post up your vin and they can tell you who owned it here if they were a member. You never know maybe it has a tune already. Most put back to stock when they sell.

Congrats on the car and welcome to the best site for crossfires around, be sure to hook up with us when you move here.

Great news, thanks for weighing that for me. That's In n' Out burger right there. I may be closer than I thought to trying one out. Did you see the roadster in Tucson? SRT Roadster

I live in Fountain Hills which is 35 mi NE of Phoenix, just east of Scottsdale. My parents used to live in Sierra Vista so I am familiar with that area as well. I am just working in LA. I am contract aerospace engineer. It's also much cooler at the beach in the summer.

My VIN # is X053835. I was wondering if anyplace had info like... out of 928 US SRT's how many were Roadsters, how many are still on the road, how many of each color were made, etc.

So I just got the car cover and the windscreen is on it's way. I'm going to do the Needwings dual CAI next. Then will be the intercooler and splitter, catch can, etc as I can afford. Does anyone know how far you can go before running into warranty issues? I got the 5 yr 70K from date of purchase plan. Any info on who to use for work in the Phoenix or LA areas?

I sure like the look of dash/console work to put the double din nav units in the car but to bad it didn't quite seem to work out.

I can hardly wait to start getting the feel of this car. I'll start finding out next weekend!

Cheers!

There were 2016 srt6's total and 928 roadsters. That doesn't include the small amount made in 2006.

On the dash work, look in the stereo section you will find a custom dash work one member did for a double din. Pretty trick.

Once Needswings hooks you up we'll have to all meet at the track in the winter.

Enjoy.

Cadjoc, I'm in Tempe. Have had mine since Aug'05. I have about 22k miles. No problems in heat. Completely stock. Evan, no coments about me still being completely stock. There is a large number of XF owners in AZ. We just went on Hook Up to New Mexico last month. I think we had 14 cars. Had a blast.

Just got the car last night for the first time. SWEET!

Drove to Scottsdale to get the inspection, registation and licensing and on the way I saw a Black Crossfire coupe. He was just in front of me and I don't know if he saw me but he turned off on the freeway before I got next to him.

Still haven't goteen WOT yet but I'm sure I'll find a little streatch somewhere along the way back to LA.

It was 103 around noon today but didn't see any excess heat but I wasn't gettin on her either. What a sweet car.

In autostick it shifts by itself just around 5800-6000 untuned. After tune around 6200 rpm. Or just tap it around 4000 rpm to feel the shifts and just enough sound to make you want to give it more. PM me and let me know when you head out. I'll take you for a ride in my car. See if you notice a difference. I'm way west.

Stock is plenty to have fun and get in trouble with. That's the beauty of this car. I think I seen you around 7th street and just north of union hills about 3-4 weeks back. They had the top down and were heading north on 7th street about 5:45 is pm.
