Default Went to the track...

I got home yesterday from Mexico, swapped the DR's onto the Aero and drove down to Woodburn for the Friday Nite Fun drags. Not very many cars there but I had fun. I raced a VERY suped up old Caddy, a Magnum, a Jeep and two suped up old Dodge's(Darts?). Temp was 75 degrees.
I havent been out in a couple of months and had to re-learn launching on the not prepped track. My gas tank was 3/4 full too. But I figured it would be fun to get out and play.

First run was against the Caddy. I did a 12.36@112.19mph, he was waaay behind. I got a soft launch(which turned out to be good) and a slow RT(.445). He got a .183 RT.

Second race I tried to launch hard and spun the tires down the track for a 13.06@111.46mph and a 2.2 60'. Beat the other guy but he only ran a 15.1.

Third race I tried to launch a little slower and still spun so I let off and then got back into it. Ran a 13.16@111.48 with a 2.1 60'. The Dodge was in at 13.49.

Fourth race I went to the soft launch, RT was .313, 60' was 1.99 and I got a 12.5@111.82mph. The other guy had a 13.1.

Fifth race was 12.5@111.82mph with a 2.0 60'. The Jeep ran 14.1.

There was a Porsche CaymanS there, but it was an older gent and he must have been just out to see what it would do. He had to re-stage a few times and ran a 15 second run when I was staged behind him. A guy with a pretty modded Fox body wouldnt race me. He said he was doing low to mid 13's and didnt want to get embarassed. He works on MB's and knew what I had. Several folks came over to look at the car and find out what the heck was under the hood.

P.S.: The belt wrap kit worked great! No slipping on any run. I want to get it on a sticky track for a better test with a hard launch. But I am very happy so far.

Sounds like you had a good time for a friday night.. How was the track preped???

The 12.36 on your first run is sweet. It looked like you got the track/care dialed in by runs 4 & 5. Good to see the belt wrap is workin' great for ya.

Was it a test & tune night; do the prep the track prior racing?

Your lucky to have two track options so close that you can drive to them with the DR's on.

Damn 4 hour drive me over the grapevine - perhaps before summer is up.

Yes, it was a test and tune night. If they prepped the track it was used up by the time I got there. Maybe I should have let a little more air out of the DR's. I was running about 28 pounds.

I run 15 lbs in my DR's for excellent traction.

I had my worst 1/8 time on Saturday in Knoxville. DA was horrible and it was about 97 outside!!!! My best run so far was a 8.6 but my average out of 8 runs on Saturday was 8.8 @ around 82 mph. Boooooo
