Default Supercharger NOT engaging

Hi, I have owned my SRT for a few years now, however, just discovered this site. Newbie. Without registering, I have searched this issue but still cannot find a definitive answer to my problem. So, I am now registered.

Purchased my SRT off of eBay when it had 4m miles. From the very first service, I complained about the supercharger flaking out or not engaging. I am out of my factory warranty period now...the dealership NOW says they can correct the issue for $6300 (NEW SUPERCHARGER). I am new here, so be nice....has anyone had this issue with their supercharger...arbitrarily deciding when to kick in or engage??? Any advice? I just want SC power all the time.

Other than that, headlights are fogged...Does 3M Plastic cleaner work best?

Thanks so much, in advance, to veterans that can help me.

Stoner

1 First of all go buy the extended warrantee through Chrysler
2. It is most likely not the super charger, but the inner cooler (IC pump)..... Do a search for IC or loss of power.
3. Do a search regarding the fogging headlights. It has been discussed a lot,

Good luck

ps I have had the IC replaced on both SRT's as most other SRT owners.

pps If the super charger is reaLLY THE PROBLEM i WILL SELL YOU ONE FOR $800

Yeah, but it's a GOOD attitude !

Both issues have been discussed mucho times but it definitely sounds like the IC pump. The original Bosch pumps evidently have a short lifespan (though mine is still alive after 57K, go figure!) & you can either choose to replace the pump with the OEM Bosch or go with a marine pump such as the Johnson. It requires a bit of modification as far as the install goes but it's not too evil.
The headlights can be wet-sanded with various grits. Depending on just how bad they may be you might want to start with something like an 800 grit & move your way up to 2000 or 2500. Then polish them with a headlight polish of some sort. 3M makes a well recommended product. I forget the name but it's all in the threads you'll find ! I just did mine a couple of months ago & they turned out very well though I still have some tiny pits left that I plan on working out in the future.
BTW, welcome to the best Crossfire forum around!!!

Just imagine stoner someone in Dallas could charge you $500 to solve your problem. Good thing the bosch ford lightning pump is only 89 bucks on ebay. Or spend another $100 and get one from EC.
