Glad to see you found one, but I can only help so far on products that we don't sell.
But for what its worth, the 3 owners of Eurocharged have yet to draw a profit for the company and spend all money towards growing the company, and paying our awesome employees. The cost of a tune, yes, does 1000 seem expensive? Perhaps. But, you have to remember that we have spent over $30-40,000 on tuning equipment. Now, average that by the amount of crossfire/mercedes owners that actually will purchase a tune, subtracting time spent on the tune/customer service/cost of shipping-etc. Now, add in the fact that obdII will be going away soon, and that equipment will be worthless on the newer cars and new equipment will be purchased. Now just look at our pullies. Anyone that has been by the shop has seen the bad pulley piles we have. There is a good 10k worth of junk product that did not pass balancing, or was damaged, or didn't meet specs, or we made revision changes too. Tack that on top of the cost to R&D, tooling, and cost of materials and you can imaging what we are facing. We do EXTENSIVE product testing, and have made ungodly amount of changes on products before you (the end customer) even get offered the product. Its unfortunate that we don't have the amazing following that these cars deserve. If so, cost would certainly drop as we could build in mass quantity. (wouldn't that be cool!) But then again, I wouldn't get that cool feeling when I see a crossfire on the road now and then!
Now, robs intake at 800 seems expensive right? But, bottom line, unless he orders 50-100 products to drop his cost, things get expensive really quick as he doesn't do his own fabrication. (also why we do most things in house)
Sorry for the rant, just wanted to clear the air and speak my opinion.

it was me you were calling around for. i guess my point of contention was when you said you would hunt for me it sort of put me in a holding pattern. i appreciate the effort of you calling but it put me on hold for well over a week. i tried the shop and sales to no avail through fone and email. i just needed to know if i needed to move on.
as for research and design i know its an expensive endeavor. and for the most part its not to terribly overpriced. my comment was in response to a post about reasonable prices. we all know who designs a lot of the products for these cars and he does it for the love of a challenge.

HPA only has some small random offerings for us, they specialize in BMW. It's weird how they took on the Code3 stuff only to immediately drop it after one run of pulleys.
