Ditto! Looking forward to the results! My brother owns his own auto/transmission shop, so this install would be a breeze for him.

I'll be installing them myself after I find out what fluid I can get by with. Anyone have input on this? Do I have to use the $11/qt Shell stuff it calls for in the service manual or will the $6/qt Mobil1 full synthetic work just fine?

I would think that if the fluids are rated as the same type you should be fine. Maybe Mobil 1 has a help line you can call?

I'll have to give that a try. I'm going to talk with a couple MB techs I know and see what their take on it is as well.

I think the SC cars already use the blue tip solenoids

RCompart did you ever get your new solinoids installed and did it make a big diffrence in the shift?

Bump. What's the final word on this? Did anyone determine if the SRT-6s have the blue top solenoids already, and if not, how the updated solenoids perform? I'd really like faster shifts...

Final word is there is no final word yet. I'm tinkering with the control of the transmission right now externally via the TCM and I'm trying to put together a system to A) engage both the 1st/5th gear and reverse solenoids at the same time to act as a trans brake, B) make it so that you can have absolute control of how the car shifts so you can either hold the gear at redline if you autocross or have it so that every single time it shifts at 6250 when you hammer on it. This will of course be something that would end up tying into a throttle body controller and will take some time but I'm hesitant to tear into it only to find out that I either already have the blue tops in there or that I can achieve the same thing electronically within the car and not have to drop the pan.
