New belt! slower ET and Trap
Like the title says put a new belt on since the stock one crapped out on me. After my Eurocharged tune i had some great passes with a 12.08 @ 114.8 as the best of two runs that night after the new tune.
Well i went to the track again next week and ran 2 passes a 12.5@ 109 and 12.4@110... I assumed my belt had died and sure enough there wasn't much left of it when i took a closer inspection.
Put a new belt on and still had some strange times, 12.3@110 and and 12.2@111, which i know doesn't sound bad but these are not typical times for my car. Normally when i get 12.2-3 times its 112-113.8 traps before i even got the tune.
I borrowed a friends datalogger to watch the manifold air pressure on a 3rd gear run from 2500rpms-redline and the new belt shows a steady increase in manifold air pressure all the way till redline so i'm positive there is NO slip with this new belt on. No visual signs of belt slip either.
I'm curious what other think of this.
My two thoughts are 1. that when i got the eurcharged tune with the stock worn belt i was slipping some and putting this new belt on is throwing that tune off.
2. Some how doing a few runs with the belt slipping majorly threw something out of wack with the tune and needs to be adjusted?
I'm more inclined to think its the first because that means i got even more power to squeeze out of her
Jerry or Tony if you see this give me a ring left some voicemails!

I don't think the belt could change .4 on your time, or the mph,, but if your belt is now slipping it would change your ET and MPH,, go do it again this time carry some belt lube with you spray it 4 times only on the web side and two times on the smooth side ( one time = pazzee just one quick spray), maybe your data log was low , unless you have one to compare it to,.jim

he is the fastest contact for eurocharged and they can give you their thoughts on it.
...and correct me if i'm wrong, but you went up to eurocharged to get a full dynotune did you not? so there could be something funky with the tune because of the belt slip.

You are probably leaning out at the top of 3rd and 4th gear due to the belt NOT slipping. It could have been slipping when they dyno tuned your car? Now its producing more boost, but not enough fuel to feed up top. Just some thoughts.......

Nope widebandless (new word). Well i went to the track again tonight thinking maybe it was a fluke. Well i was again hit with 12.2-.3 ETs again with 110-111 traps. Now here is the interesting thing on my third run i ran outa gas and the lowest they have at the track 100 octane. I figured if im running lean this wont hurt. Well i ran a 12.08@113.95... which was very comparable to my run the night after driving home with the new tune.
We all are going through what you have. My best all summer was mid 12's, compared to my 12.1. Track conditions (weather) has a lot to do with it. Cooler temps will get you right back where you were. Our cars really love heat soak this time of year. Be patient, I know I am and can't wait for those cooler temps and better DA's right around the corner!
Ugh, not belt lube...............................Belt dressing. You dont want to do anything that may slip the belt, it will burn up.
The weather is changing and the cooler weather can lean you some. Boost your fuel pressure to correct this but you must know the f/a. I have two sensors and they are not in agreement at times, one is slower than the other it seems.

Lesson of the story get your car tuned with a good belt on the car!

I'm starting to think it's the driver. But... my trap speeds are a bit low for what I should be getting. I dunno. I gave up a while back and decided to just drive the hell out of it and enjoy what I've got.

Higher octane doesn't give you a lower ET unless your tuned for it or in my situation your losing timing from leaner conditions up top. .2 sec is massive. Yes i have taken DA into account these last two tuesday nights with the new belt have been better DA than my previous best after the tune. Plain and simple i think i have narrowed it down i just need to get the thing retuned from only a damn belt change =P
