Rudy,
I think the plastic piece is actually better as it will be easier on the plastic body of the Dashdaq. It was also much easier to cut off the ball mount and JB weld the factory mount onto my mount...

I havent figured out a way to mill the mount on the bracket that I like yet...

I did do some whittling on the first article and made it smaller and lighter. Here it is installed....
