Hey Doc, I still want line locks.

But I sure as hell am not paying $400 for a kit. I'll do as BikeCop did and just use two line locks kits (because you need two solenoids) from just about any other car and save about $250.

Well, I have to be honest here: I don't know how to do it... yet. I'm planning on picking BikeCop's brain and get his list of parts. From previous conversation I had with him, he said he put line locks on his SRT-6 using a Chevy kit, an extra solenoid, and a set of Mercedes brake lines. I get the impression that the solenoids and triggers are pretty universal. The difficult part (and I don't think it will be too difficult) is mating the existing brake lines to the solenoids and mating another set of brake lines to the front brakes.

I probably won't get around to doing anything with this until around late March 2010. But when I do, I'll be sure to photo-document the process and give a parts list. Heck, if I do it up nice enough, I'll donate the idea/instructions to Rob @ NeedsWings and he can sell kits for cheap (compared to EVOsport).

no rush tom. im cashed out for the yr after my tuning session. maybe 1 more time at the drags then shes off to sleep for a couple months until the warm sun shines again!
it seems the biggest hurdle with this kit is getting the npt fittingds to go from the mb lines to the solenoid and back. jegs has all the other parts for sale separte

400 is pretty steep but it does have 2 solenoids (which I believe are required for ABS cars?) so right off the bat I'd expect it to be at least twice as expensive as a regular kit. Throw in some braided steel lines, fittings and such... doesn't sound to bad once you figure you don't have to get out your double flare brake line tool

Talking Re: for the 1/4 mile guys!

Its a shame we cant crack into the computer cause the abs could apply the front brakes for us with no hardware needed.

WOuld that be grand or not???

I really don't think that is the biggest problem I have right now...brake torquing has been around a long time...and if done properly, doesn't do much harm to the rears...line locks came about with clutch vehicles rolling past the staging beams, so, button on the shifter to hold front brakes, until launch, isn't such a big deal in a auto...lol....so, it is used to do your burn outs, but not really why it was introduced....I like concentrating on finding more hp....I like the cooling affects of the meth, now that I have read all about it, and talked to the "experts", and I like Rob's manis and Y pipe argument to make more hp. So, the meth kit isn't all that expensive, the manis and Y are, but the hp gain is real....so, who knows, maybe I should do both...lol....cover all the bases...we have all winter to ponder...but both is doable just as soon as I decide which exhaust to go to...package deal vendors, package deal?????
