Default Zeitronix ZT-2 Installation Guide

Since it's not easy to find the install instructions and I did things a little differently, I figured I'd put together an installation guide for those that would like one.

Main differences between mine and the one from Needswings, I'm grabbing power off the main Body Control Module ground (12ga wire) and I'm getting my RPM signal from the camshaft position sensor signal wire. My reasoning behind this was to get as clean of a signal as possible to the ZT-2. I also installed the ZT-2 box right into the passenger side relay/fuse/PCM/BCM box as well so minimize the length of wires between the ZT-2 and the car.

Does this allow the zeitronix to go OFF when you turn off the key??

It turns on easily and drains the battery when it just sits there, I was going to find a better power terminal . unless you have done it so far, let us know.
Thanks Woody

Yes, if the car is off, so is the ZT-2. This part didn't change between Rob's install guide and mine. One thing it did do though by wiring it up this way is get rid of those nasty spikes on the datalogs. No more 1000000RPM for a split second.

fantastic, thank you, yes I agree those 2 differences look for the better in your scenario.

so we should switch the ground wire we use in our instructions to the ground shown in yours, same scenario for the rpm signal.

thank you again and i'll be switching our diagrams and sending out update emails.

The DashDaq should be set to 1 cylinder.
