New Mod coming soon
Just thought I'd share that earlier this week I ordered a set of the "Devil
Horns" and the tubes to go with them. I really like the look of these and
boy to they really give a "bad a$$" look to the car. Just wondering though,
with those "scoops" can I expect to get a ram air effect that would
increase my boost?

You're kidding, right? But I agree that they look super sharp.

awful much about forced induction and what can or cannot contribute
to increased air pressure in the intake system.
So, should I take that as a no vote?

Coyote, you will get better air flow if you open up your air boxes so they dont restrict the air so much... SL55 boxes and Y would be the best if you want to keep the stock look......

So... something doesn't seem right with this equation. I'm adding a value
on one side of the equation (more air) but not getting anything on the
other side (more boost). One would think, but could easily be wrong, that
putting more air in the compression chamber would result in more
pressure during compression. But, who cares
for the look, and these look awesome.

Been running that mod for about 2 years now. Now, I want to tie that
in with the Devil Horns. Those things look awesome in your engine bay.
Not sure when they will be delivered, but they have been ordered and
paid for. Can hardly wait to get my fingers on them.

, some mods are just
for the look, and these look awesome.

i wrapped my tubes with black exhaust wrap to keep the engine bay heat off them. before the wrap you could literally burn your hand on the tubes,(mine are stainless steel) after the wrap you can hold them all day they are just warm toi the touch. 10ft should wrap them properly
and they look really cool!!
Actually a better flowing intake most definately can increase the boost. Not very much but less restriction pre-blower equals more air out the other end. This has been datalogged by several poeple.
Here ya go... Interesting bits on intake methods...

to a point it can, maybe a few tenths of a pound, maybe a pound or two on a really really cold day.
on turbo systems, less restriction pre turbo = quicker spool an slightly more power, but it doesnt increase boost for the most part (wastegate) but with a supercharger you're limited by the pulley.

the Atlanta session, my a/f was quite good. I was showing a max of about
12.5, with normal of about 11.8. I think I should be good, but I definitily
want to get a session on the dyno soon. How's the progress on getting the
tune and track day set up?

minimally on the subject.

I'm installing pillar pod and gauges this weekend, then I'm designing a different RAM Air intake Re-located somewhere else (I'll have to move a radiator overflow bottle, windshield fluid bottle...you know the story) Then a 4" Down Pipe Exhaust.
Then I'm going to design and fab a water to air intercooler so I can crank up the wastegate and boost. Most guys are running an air to air intercooler but at spool-up cost and not getting the temp drop they could.
After owning and modding the intake and intercoolant system on the SRT6 - you just know I'll think up something different and better.

amgstyle the devil horns are built by needswings
infinite for my use of the devil horns wasnt a "ram air" effect but rather to get the cold air from the front of the engine to the t/b without losing my m/b center piece. im not able to use the dual cai on my 32 due the difference in the grille area. so to enlarge the oem openings and get more air into the t/b i modded the oem boxes added a sl55 y splitter and the devil horns.
great read btw!
