Srt Cai Set Up
Hello fellow SRT owners, well I am ready to start my first mods on my SRT, and I see by all the post, the CAI system is the best place to start. I really do like the NW set up, but was wondering on the dual pipe set up, will I have to change any thing, or will this just mount right to the stock throttle body, with the new Y pipe ? I have also seen that you guys use different company set ups for the CAI system, and was wondering which company has the best product, and the price for the system is not important, just want the better quality, performance, etc. Your input will be great help.
Thanks in advance, Kevin

I have the single NW intake. It slides right on the back of the intake and is held on by a worm clamp. There is a few items that need to be removed and/or moved to run this cai and the dual set up.
I have the SL55 intake on the SSB and the NW Dual on the Aero. I would suggest that you get the NW Dual and not look back. You will have to do some minor parts removal, but you will need to do that with any CAI if you want to get the most air from in front of the radiator.....
I have the single NW, and hope to upgrade to the dual some day. If money is no object, go with NW dual. You will be amazed what happens the first time you stomp on her. You will hear the SC whine for the first time, and what a sweet song she sings. And, the new power will be more than anything you would have expected. I recommend that you take someone with you for the first ride after install and have them video tape your expression when you go WOT.
Thank you for your input, I think the dual CAI set up from NW is the way I'm going to go, does Rob at NW give any discounts to club members ? since his online price for the SRT dual CAI is $799.00, If I could get it cheaper that would be great, but again no big deal on price, I'm prepared to spend the $800.00. I really do like the look of the dual pipes, and again I see a lot of you guys use the NW CAI system more than any other ones posted.
The dual comes with some power steering relocation lines. It can be messy even if done with great care. The plastic pieces that the stock air boxes attach to at the front have to come out and they won't come easy if you cant find the pushpins holding them in. I never did find one of them. I just yanked real hard in the end. The performance improvement is real. The first time you floor it, be sure you have no other cars around and lots of room to gather it up if necessary. The first time at the drag strip with the dual I was looking at the concrete wall in first, let off, got it straight, hit second and was looking at the concrete wall again. And the supercharger sounds like a banshee at full song. Just poking around you don't really hear it much, or I got used to it.

is it easy to take out the grill? I am plaining somthing big and would like to take it out for the track. Plus I wanted to re paint it. I am trying to do some custom work to it.
Yes I have been reading the threads, regarding the things that have to be done when installing the dual CAI, and I'm sure if I have any troubles I'LL BE BACK for your guys help, I use to work for SAAB and have plenty of cheif p/s fluid, so loosing some is not a problem, I also PM Rob and asked him about any discounts for us forum members, he has not replied back as of yet, but can,t wait to get it and install it, to get more of the permanent grin feeling
Once again thank you fellow owners for your input,[ although I was susprised to see that no one else metioned any other CAI sytems ] just got off the phone with Rob at NW, and ordered my NW dual CAI set up, should be about a week, can't wait. His shop is just down the street from me and he has offered to even help me install it, using his garage. So here's hoping that next weeks weather will be good and dry, to really check out the difference in the perormance change.
You can't go wrong with NeedsWings. Rob is a great guy with a kick-a** product, and will treat your car with more care than you probably will expect.
I'm sure you'll be MORE than satisfied!

If I lived just down the street from Robs shop they would have to put me a bunk in there for weekends and my wife would take my debit card away too,,,,
