Does your A/C get warm when you punch it??
Before I get into the car to check for a vacuum leak, I wanted to ask the group first. When the a/C was on I happened to punch the car and the air vents went hot for 15-20 seconds.
Iam not sure if the car cuts off the compressor or if the vents closed due to loss of vacuum signal. I suspect that the car has a compressor cut out but dont know. I ususally dont have the a/c on while getting down, but this came up today.
INterested in your collective understands and experiences, thanks Woody. Weekend............

Experience over the years has been that the AC cuts off if you kick down hard on every car I have owned. Because the AC pulls quite a bit of power, the cars computer assumes you must want to pass or merge. Lifting off full throttle will re-engage the AC compressor.

I never noticed the air getting warm out of my vents when i romp on it. Altho i never get a chance to go wot for more than a couple seconds... Police tend to get annoyed by 80+ speeds
.
I've read about a clutch that disengages the AC under WOT. With that being said, I've done this plenty of times in the recent heat and haven't noticed any warm air afterward.
I have the 185 pulley and when I go to the floor the air coming out goes hot hot real fast like 2 seconds and wont cool again for 3-6 seconds in coast mode. Iam wondering if the vacuum system is losing its stored vacuum and allowing the doors to revert to the uncontrolled "open" position, causing the issue.
Wondering woody?????????????????
prototype fuel boost controller with lots of gauges for watching...............

I had the same problem after I removed the rubber strip gasket between the hood and the wipers. Look, the hot air from the engine can go right into the vent intakes.
