i spoke with devin on mon. autotech was still waiting on the circlips to arrive to confirm fitment for the stub axles. this is the only thing holding up the production at this point. ill try again next week to get another update but have been told as soon as autotech gives the word everyone will be notified and deposits taken

Yes, they will fit the n/a also. Like you said, the ring & pinion ratio is the only difference.

 

Are the only making them for this one buy or will it become a stock item? I want in but I don't know if I can have the funds in time

 

it wont be a stock item. once its made they will be able to make more but only if the demand is there and the materials available. you can order it but it could take who knows how long to get it unless your in the initial group buy. if theres a demand for a lsd for another car ie: vette camaro whatever thats were the materials will go first.

 

When's the buy-in deadline?

 

I will be contacting them to make my deposit next week. Very very interested in seeing what they have to offer for the crossfire. I will let you know once I have made my deposit. i dont know that there is a specific deadline. im going to say they will take deposits until the prototype is built and they then will have a definite # of units to be built. i would guess as long as they are producing the g/b you could get in but remember the other members who have deposits will be ahead of you.

allen typically doesnt add anyone to the list until the deposit is made. keeps the numbers straight and the confusion as to who gets theirs when down. when you make a deposit with devin let me or buggin kno and your name will be added to the list

deposit is 550$. they will take your credit card info and add it to the list but wont actually charge your card until the project is under way. all the contact info you need is in the first few posts

 

Ok. Im on my phone at work and service is spotty so sometimes it sucks trying to load a webpage. I'll give them a call tomorrow and see for sure if the diff will work for my purposes (drifting) and if not, see if it's modifiable through new friction rings or whatnot. Hopefully it'll work. I can't slide at events unless it's wet :/

 

Steve, I spoke with Devin late friday afternoon. He said he was waiting on info on the clips as stated b4. He called the engineer's office but he had skipped out extra earley. Plans to call him 9:00 Monday. He took my nane and # but did not want creditcard info. Devin is a great guy to talk to and if you are on the fence one call should do it.

I just got unoffical word that I will be getting laid off in 3 weeks with the other guys in my group. As much as I still really want to get this, I have to plan like I may be out of work for a while.....

heres the lateset update from devin. deposits will be taken until autotech has all the engineering and parts collected and ready. we are talking maybe 2 weeks tops. then the g/b will close and members will be notified in order and deposits taken. at that time there will be a definite # of units made and how many if any additional units will be made. there is no guarantee that any units in excess of the deposits taken will be built.
sooooo.... if you want to be assured of getting a unit from unitrax i would suggest calling asap and give the deposit info to devin. once the prototype starts no more deposits will be taken.
doc i confirmed with devin that you want 2 units and you are covered!
