Oh well, it looks like the install will happen this Saturday.
WooHoo! The install is complete! Everything went as planned and the initial few drives have proven promising. No leaks, funny sounds or anything. I did launch a few times pretty hard and could definitely tell a difference with the backend grabbing much better. Have yet to really hit it like I would at the track but that will happen soon enough. Very excited! I will provide more feedback as I begin to push it more.
Also, thanks too many of you as I could not have done it without the information in this thread.

Hi Guys,
For those of you with the Wavetrac, any outboard videos out there of some powerslides or even some donuts, 360's with the new diff (will the ECU even let you)?
Just wanted to visually see the difference from stock and how much difference this diff makes.
Thanks
Christian

I have outgrown my doughnuts, but asa spring arrives, I will post some hole shots for sure. I love having both the cars acting normal again. This is a must have if you are into performance. I recommend this even before a cold air intake, pulley or tune for sure...
Thanks Doc,
Not big into the donuts myself, just figured most could show these on video as powerslides would be more uncommon, at least on the streets and somewhat similar.
Look forward to the vids!

Donuts are great fun.
Shame I don't have anyone to shoot video of me. I've got a set of rear tires that need replaced. What do you think I should do to them before I make the switch? <insert evil laugh here>

Well, I am kinda ashamed to admit that my Wavetrac is till in the unopened box. Some life changing events in the last 8 months, thought I had to sell to keep *her* happy, then didn't have to, then divorce, all car projects are backburnered etc.
I do know that Auto Club Speedway in Fontana CA is my favorite track for the Crossfire, I also know that 1:58.6 is my personal best there in my SRT6 with track DOT rubber. So I would presume that using the same tires, same mods, yet having the WaveTrac installed and running again would tell the tale of effectiveness of the diff... There is an event at Fontana March 23rd
I finally purchased a wavetrac and installed it last weekend, but I wasn't able to get the car aligned until yesterday. After the alignment, I took it for a nice long, easy, nearly 100 mile drive in varying conditions (highway and backroads). All seemed well, so I found a nice wide four way intersection out on a deserted country road, and I tried my first two wheeled donut in years! OMG - I forgot how fun it is to sit and spin! The first one I over rotated and came close to one of the curbs, but then I got the feel for the car and spun a nice round controlled circle and then continued to burn out of it down one of the roads - it was great!
The car is much more controlled and predictable. My 0-60 has also improved because I can mash the throttle a little lower in the rpm without the tires spinning up in smoke.
This is how the cars should have come from the factory!
Also, I just wanted to say that Devin and UNITRAX were great to deal with - top notch in customer service!

Now I am curious to how many actually have the wavetrac. We original did a 20 group buy. I bought 2. How many others purchased this unit?
I hope everyone buys one or atleast something like it. That little extra edge over other cars.
from the folks i talked to autotech built as many parts as possible to be interchangeable with other cars diffs. so as long as they have the housings to fit our cars the internals are the same and plentiful. i know of at least 5 other diffs sold since the g/b
so, at this point, it would be at least 25 cars with this mod..... not many...when given the numbers of 32's and SRT6's out there. It is still a rare mod. But, I have to tell you, the best mod I have done so far bar none. Speed, HP, mean nothing if you can't hook up, and hook up without feeling you are going to break the rearend. Great job.....getting this part out to us.
I got mine in the original group buy, but have yet to have it installed. It has been sitting in its original
packagaing on a shelf while I've saved the money to get it installed. That has been accomplished and
I'm looking to get it installed in the next month.
