Default There are decent, respectful young people...

Went to the movies tonight with a buddy to see the Mechanic. Good pick if you like lots of action and close up killing...

When we got out, we were talking in front of my SRT. Suddenly this group of three boys and three girls (I would guess about 16) walked up and asked if it was my car. After nodding yes, one of the boys walked up to me and asked if he could shake my hand. He said he had never seen such a beautiful car. After shaking his hand, I looked up to see the others had lined up behind him to do the same.

They walked around the car talking amongst themselves pointing out all the styling features. I asked them if they wanted to see something cool and opened my Lambo doors. I swear they almost fainted. They asked if they could take pictures and I said sure and asked if they wanted to sit behind the wheel for their pictures. It was AS though I offered them $1000 each.

After taking pictures for about 10 min they all again shook my hand and again expressed how much they were impressed by the car.

Overall, very polite and well mannered kids.

My buddy and I were laughing all the time. He told me he would not have believed it had he not seen it with his own eyes. Then he asked if this kind of thing happens often. I replied, not to this extent, but I constantly get positive comments.

He said that he rarely gets comments on his car. BTW he drives a late model Porsche Carrera Cabriolet.....LOL

I LOVE THIS CAR !

Great story!

And I've actually noticed something similar. It seems like so many kids are disrespectful and just plain rude today, but for some reason when it comes to cars, the ones who are interested in them somehow seem to be very nice and respectful.

I too get asked about my car all the time and it's weird because it's mostly young kids that seem to really like it. I had a Mom with a 5-10 year boy (I'm not too good with guessing little kids ages) come up to my car and tell me that her son loved my car and said that he wants one when he can drive. She said he has never pointed out a car or showed any interest in them until he saw my car.

Kids on bikes give me the thumbs up and yell out "cool car" or "do a burnout" all the time...LOL!

Strange, but very cool!

Cool story and funny about the young kids. I was driving a couple of weeks ago and a couple of kids in a car I passed had their faces pasted on the window of the minivan, pointing and thumbs up. Funny hun.

I get this comment once and a while... And there is no way am I going to dissappoint them by driving off respectfully...
That is probably why I only got 2 summers out of a set of tires

That will most likely be reduced to one summer per set from now on. LOL

I had a kid stop his bike IN FRONT of my car to ask me if it was mine.

Great story. SRT SIX, You have a great looking car! I didn't realize you were in Rancho Cucamonga. I am from Redlands which is just a few minutes east of you. My uncle who helped me install my V8 lives in Redlands and is looking for some side work in case you want to go V8

Ive had a similar thing happen to me 2 days in a row.

First i was drving to a friends house, and stoped at a crossing point just down the street, i suppose school had just finished, and these 3 kids began crossing infront of me, and one looked at the car and you could see him say "WOAH" then the poked his buddies, they all turned, stopped walking, and pointed at the car, then gave the thumbs up. They stood there for like 15 seconds, as i was waiting to go.

Then the next day, i was taking one of my buddies for a ride for the first time in the car, and just down the street there were some kids playing in the front yard. There was a stop sign just before the house. And when i stopped one of them saw it and yelled "Sick car!", then they all looked, and it was like they had seen a lamborghini for the first time. Pointing and jumping. LOL

This car is sure a eye catcher for the younger crowd. too bad they dont have many posters of these cars to put up on a wall. We might have some future owners that could help drive the price up for these things Heck when i first saw the final production concept at the autoshow in 2003, it was on my to get list!

It takes a whole community to make kids who aren't a- wholes

I've had my SRT6 for one summer, and have never seen so much interest in a car. People love the Areo Blue, and they love the style. Strangers walk up and just start complimenting and asking questions. Kids are often shy to say much to adults - it's cool that the car can break that barrier. If you don't want the attention, buy something boring like a Porche or a 'Vette.

great story. my friends all appreciated unique cars when we were that age. a ferrari would have affected us in the same way (or a countach ).

Lot's of similar situations with mine as well. The thing that gets me is that I still stare at my car the same way others do.....................

The SRT did get a smile out of a woman when I was leaving a rest stop in eastern Ohio Tuesday.

But it's nowhere near the smile magnet my wife's black Jaguar XJS convertible is

Living on a corner Karl, means everyone that stops looks in my garage. It's hard to get anything done with the garage door up. LOL....glad the neighbors enjoy looking at them, 'cause once in a while, I need to test some things, and they never say a word. And since I spent 20 yrs on the force here before moving on, the guys just look and say, "Ah, it's just Doc, probably got a new part for the car again." Enjoy my friend. My last vette got a lot of attn, but nothing like the XF's.

Wow Six, if it ends up on cinder blocks I guess you'll have your suspects

I dropped off my daughter at her HS which is right next to the Jr. High. The kids were all lit up like I was driving grave digger or something!!

Seems kids in the 5-10 age group seem most responsive to the car
