Just ordered mod parts for my SLK32 from NeedsWings!
Got my tax refund this morning and finally dropped the hammer on this purchase!
My car is bone stock at this time with only K&N filters. So.... to start off, I got the following:
NW Dual CAI
ASP 178mm Pulley
NW Pulley Saver Kit
NW Intercooler Coolant Isolation Kit
NGK Set of Laser Iridium Spark Plugs
Magnecor Spark Plug Wires
...and I have already purchased my tune so I am ready to get my hands greasy! All i need now is some beer and pizza for the garage when the parts arrive and you will never see a happier owner!
Thanks Rob@Needswings and Jerry@Eurocharged for "Phase 1" heh heh heh...
Any suggestions for Phase 2?
I was thinking NW Super Cooler (need grille mod since it's a SLK) and intake manifolds, big brake upgrade to handle the new power?
I'd love to hear your thoughts.
Thanks everyone on this forum for all your informative posts that made my decision making possible.

niice! enjoy installing everything! I will do this myself sometime soon. Will you take pics and make install guides?
have you done a dyno prior to this?
you know what? you're absolutely right. I need to establish a baseline dyno before I install all this stuff. Anyone know of a dyno shop in Orlando or Jacksonville Florida? I'm an hour away from each.
And while we are on the subject, anyone in central/north Florida have a larger pulley and had a shop install it, please let me know the name and location of the shop you used please? That would be a great help in case I go that route with the crank and other pulleys.

I looked up www.dynojet.com and found a shop nearby (within 20 miles of me) called Brothers Performance. I dropped them an email and hope that they provide dyno services to the general public, even though I am not going to be buying any mods from them (they are American muscle cars only).
give mimisrt6 a shout. they race regular in orlando and may know of a shop to do the crank pulley. without the proper tools this will be a diffucult diy.
find out what type of dyno they use and try to dyno early am as cool as possible and see if you can get 3 runs in 3rd and 4th gear stop just before the redline
stage 2 would consist of supercooler and robs exhaust sec. cat and resonator delete

You obviously got a LOT more back in taxes than I did! lol
I dyno'ed at TrickPro in Melbourne, FL. I just plugged it in my iPhone when I was down there for work and found that place 3 miles away. I'm assuming you are up near Daytona based on your name...
I'm sure there is a shop local for you to go to.
Enjoy the mods!

A BBK is really an exaggeration for the street for our cars IMO and I have one so I know. It gives you better pedal feel and it takes less pressure on the brake pedal to stop but for day to day it's an expensive investment for a smallish improvement. I bought the Stoptech BBK after overheating my brake pads on the track. For track use a BBK lets you get away with not having brake ducts. I can race and brake from over 100 to 35 for three 20 minute sessions without overheating the fluid or pads which I like .... and they look killer. The stock equipment is heavy but stops better than most cars on the street. So it's a personal decision.
I love the downpipes for the track too. For everyday driving ....... I'd rather have the low end torque of the stock exhaust. The smell without cats is unpleasant too. But with the cutouts open I got a 28 hp gain on the top end on the dyno. So it depends on how you use your car if you will hate them or love them. They absolutely make the car faster. With the cutouts closed I got an 18 hp gain.

In any case, I agree with you, that is my very next mod immediately following me figuring out the grille situation.
