Default Bought a SSB yesterday!

First of all, thanks to everyone for the advice on which SRT6 to buy.

Yesterday we picked up our SRT6 with 66K miles on the odometer.

On the drive home I realized the blower was working intermittenly, so that must be why I got such a good deal on the car. Now it adds up. Luckily I'd already read on here that this is typical of a IC pump failure, and didn't freak out. This place is a wealth of knowledge and I feel very fortunate to be a member.

Here she is.

Here's the wife driving it today:

I already purchased a Needswings CAI, so I installed it last night.

15 minutes ago the wife gave me the okay to buy the 185, so mid/low 12's are on the horizon. I'm getting the Johnson pump too, but the heat exchanger will have to wait.

All this is a far cry from my old 800HP SRT8, but it will do just fine.

Just a though, or $0.02 worth of advice. You should really consider saving up for a Heat Exchanger and a tune before you get your 185mm installed.

The 185mm definitely needs to have a tune and a heat exchanger to support it.

Zahanma beat me to it...
I would not go without the inner cooler when running a 185mm.
Depending on where you are buying the 185mm, I am pretty sure Eurocharge is still offering a Pulley & Tune special.
I KNOW FOR A FACT you will be disappointed if you just put in the 185mm pulley until you get it tuned.
Now a pulley, cooler, intake and a tune and you can forget about ever mentioning that big "8" boat on this forum again!
good luck,
Mike

I sold the Jeep to help with the wife's medical bills. My non-smoking 34 y/o wife had a double-lung transplant last May, so the bills were getting out of hand.

As for the NW CAI, I bought it prior to purchasing the XFire.

Having a bit of experience with forced induction, there is no way in the world I'd increase the boost without a tune, or at least a minimum of a wideband to monitor A/F. With my Jeep I could adjust fuel and spark with a handheld controller to compensate, but I don't beleive the XFire has this option.

Eurocharged is currently running a sale on a choice of 181 or 185 with tune for 1k, so that's what I ordered. I also ordered the Johnson pump, since mine isn't working. I plan on ordering the $150 SiliconeIntakes heat extractor in the next week or so, if I can find the 14" I saw in the writeup.

I'm new to the XFire, so what's the best way to determine if the pulleys are stock and if it's completely mod-free, as advertised? Who knows, I may already have a larger crank pulley.

Just because you bought the fastest color, SSB, don't get cocky OK?

Welcome to the club.

Be warned, there are side effects to the permagrin. Not the least of which is that there is no cure.
Some folks have sufffered selective amnesia. You may forget that clunky old SRT-8.

Thanks. Just setting still the SSB appears to be going 75-85 mph. I'm pretty certain the 185 with supporting mods will put the Jeep completely out of my mind.

The advantage of the Super charger will be apparent come your next GTG with other Crossfires. As a consequence of the HP, you may likely be in front.

Following another Crossfire for long creates some kinda hypnotic energy wave in you mind. Having to stare at it for miles will bring you to the dark side. You will find yourself in a craving to go buy another one.

At least it has happened to me. Three times.

But then I'm easy.
