Default Transmission Control Module Problem...

finally had the car diagnostic done today after it went into permanent limp mode and the check engine light came on.

Speed sensor was being crazy while in place and being disconnected from the TCM and then lead to the TCM being faulty from what Chrysler said. The tech unplugged the TCM and plugged it back in and everything was fine. Which could be the reason after everytime the car was in limp mode i would turn it off and back on again and everything was good. Although with the tech restarting the TCM the car drives so much better then before.

I also do have a small trans leak around the O-Ring which is minor, but ill have them take care of it as well.

Chrysler wants $595 plus installation $780 total, so I obviously I'm thinking of just getting this taken care of. Was wondering if any of you guys knew where I could get a used one or new one a bit cheaper before I did purchase one through them?

TIA.

Talking Re: Transmission Control Module Problem......

Unplugging it resets the module; i.e. erases the fault code(s) Woody

Woody I know. I was just saying after it was reset the car felt like new again, but its just a temp fix.

Ant, thanks for the heads up.

I got in touch with DJ and located a good used one for $125. I'll see when I get it hooked up and hope all is well.
