Random limp mode
I believe its located under or inside the transmission. Something not worth doing urself. It cost me $300 to get it installed from the dealer.

When your wife tried to accelerate, was it like she had a dead pedal? Push on it and no response?
If so, I think you may have an issue with the accelerator pedal. Mine was doing this right before winter storage. No codes, turn car off restart and would be fine. The pedal position sensor may be going out.

I went to the dealer today. Its the nav plugin and the plate as you all told me. The good news is they are doing this under my warranty as this car was bought as a certified used car. The bad news is I ordered the plate that I wont need I may be able to send it back or fleabay it. Thanks for the help!!This site rocks.
Wondering if your limp mode problem was solved? We had this issue for the 1st time on a 10 hour trip to our son's wedding. Stopped at a dealer and they tested it.. was reset after we turned ignition off. No re-occurence on the trip home, but experienced this recently again... So sad... love my Crossfire, but this is scary! Dealer here says it would have to re-occur for them so that they can see the exact cause...

If you have a warranty with them they may be waiting for it to expire before they find the trouble.

On my 300 the trouble came and went and one day it did not go away, it was a long slow drive back to the dealer.
You have to get a new dealer, the transmission in my 2007 300 had limp mode set, is basically the same tranny as in the Crossfires and if you have limp mode there is a code set which is readable and the trouble lies in the electrical/valve plate in the bottom of the tranny. It's a solenoid or the speed sensor gone wrong, no big deal.

Not sure how close he is to you but an obvious choice would be Rob at Needswings.
