C6 vs. SRT-6
Just my 0.02 Cheebs.....if you need the 4 seats the S4 is way up there on the list of cars to look at. Loads of grins with that one are almost as sure as in the Xfire.
You already said the 300C is a bit too big for you...otherwise I agree with Adam that DC definitely got a winner with that one. HMMMMM Hemi
Of course if you decide on a Bimmer .... you can explain that I-drive system to all those idiots at the car mags ;-)
It's not near as tuff as they make that out to be.
DR.....Porsche, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Maserati, Jaguar, Aston Martin......all great choices
Too expensive ??
Honda, Toyota, Nissan, Kia, Suzuki, Daewoo ....:-D

yeah I agree. The Audi is impressive. Maybe the smaller 300C will be out by the time I get my car (doubtful but I can dream!). I made a thread about the S4 in the "Other Cars" forum so head on over there if you have more goodies to deal. I found out some great info from Bullfrog. Thanks again Guys! Oh and Dan is actually on to something. I saw artist "rendering" of two future 300 spinoffs (convertible and coupe). It'll be exciting to see what happens.

rendering from one of the car mags.
It's in German so I can only offer the pics. Sorry.

Forget about the Infiniti FX..that 300C convert is AWESOME! I need to get that one- now that we're having our first baby
Is this gonna be an SRT-8 too?
I'm still gonna keep XFIREX

I saw a few c6's in person in the last few weeks. I must say, they did a pretty damn good job this time around. I also watched an hour episode on discovery on the development of the new c6. They weren't messing around.
I can't wait to see the z07 or whatever they plan to call it.

I've seen the new C6 and I do like it as Corvettes go,but I must say it doesn't make me want it like the CRossfire looks do.It's just another vette ! I think I'd rather have 2 Crossfires than a 50k + plastic car .
As to the wing.................
"I'm guessing parts at cost would not be more than $1200. You might even be lucky enough to say swap it out with a "kid" who wants the SRT look with out all the under the hood goodies."
I'm not trying to fool anyone (I am a kid at heart though) but I DO like the wing.
Besides my Chip and K&Nz give me enough to really get in trouble with the man.
SSSSSSSSSOooooooooooooooooooo..................... ...........
Anybody that wants to swap an "Auto-Deploy" for a "Fixed" let me know!!

One magazine speculated that the SRT-6 will be short lived, and, as such, will be an automotive rarity. Considering that Crossfire sales in general have been disappointing, it wouldn't be unreasonable to predict 2005 could be the last year of production for the entire Crossfire line.

I just wonder what everyone thinks would happen if 2005 Xfire was the last year. What would happen to our resale values--up or down. I would certainly be neat to know that you own a fairly rare vehicle however as time goes on, active ownership numbers will diminish and this forum, possibility of clubs may become extinct as well.
Any opiinions????????

The SRT6 / AMG is more reliable, better response, better mpg. The interior styling is 100x better than the vette. The only thing the Vette has going for it is heads up display and a car that can do burnouts really well.
SRT 6 - Classy Performance and very rare

Yeah I still hate the spoiler on the SRT6, but that can be fixed.

Example:
"SRT6 more reliable [than a C6]" Really? Do you have any hard data to back that up? The vettes have bullitproof powertrains, and have proven extremely reliable even under repetitive hard track abuse. I'm sure the SRT6 is a reliable car, but show me some data. Even if you could, reliability is not an issue with the vette, so the point is moot. And I'd bet the vette's parts are much much less expensive.
"Leaf suspension, give me a break" You would have time for a break if you were driving a C6 on a roadcourse against an SRT6. This is not the same leaf spring like you see on old pickups... but a transverse leaf spring. Not even the same. (This is just as dumb as the "pushrods suck" nonsense people believe. Total garbage.) Oh, the C6 rides better (fact) and handles better (also fact). Can't be that bad, huh?!
"better MPG" Lets see: EPA rates SRT-6 (roadster) 17/24. C6 (convertible) 19/28. Not even close. Next.
"...100x better interior" Opinion. Some might agree, some might not.
"...does burnouts really well" If this is what you are reducing the vette to, it just demonstrates to everyone how little you really know about anything automotive.
You are right, though, you will see a vette on every corner. The SRT6's are definitely a more unique and rare vehicle.
I come on this board wanting to learn about these unique and cool cars.....only to find crap like this. I hope this is not a second rate board where everybody bashes everything other than what they drive.
You don't have to explain to people why you bought an SRT6. You like it better. Thats fine, thats why we have so many cars to choose from in this market. I'll never understand why people feel the need to justify themselves when somebody brings up a different model.

In the March 2005 issue of Road & Track, the C6 Corvette was voted the best over-all sports car out of 10 that were chosen (under $100,000) for extensive test runs at Button Willows Race Track. This wasn't even the Z06 version that is just making the rounds at the show circuits. The C6 was not outstanding in any one category but when you combined all its great attributes, it came out on top by a slight margin. The Corvette engineers (Dave Hill and his gang) have sure done a great job with the new Vette.
BTW, the Z06 was at the TIAS and looked outstanding; unfortunately, like other rare car appearances, you could look but not touch and they had the hood and doors closed tight. I'm hearing posssibly a $80-90,000 ($60-70,000 U.S.) price tag for this option. For 500 h.p. and all the other race-bred features, maybe not bad investment. Sure beats a VIPER.
