Unsure if it has been mentioned or not, but split cooling mod not only improves intercooler performance, it takes a lot of pressure off of the core. When split cooling, there is no pressure in the system for the intercooler, while there is up to 18psi in the engine cooling system circuit. Removing this pressure will help the intercooler core live longer, and not stress the welded seams. In other words, it's just plain a good idea.

 

yes it does but you forgot two things:
#1 the heat up,, cool down expansion and #2 the movement stress of the cooler itself. even though it is better/ best split system it still can crack. jim
