Default Cats making noise - Fronts this time

OK I needs some input from the group here.

Last year I had to replace the rear cats on the SRT6 (120,000 miles) and after researching and digging up my best deal on the entire exhaust section from front to rear cats from Mercedes at 2500 for both sides, I chose to weld in some high flow cats for less than 400.00.

Some 15,000 miles later, I have a rear O2 go out on the left side and it is showing signs of ceramic material hitting the old sensor...a few weeks later and I am starting to hear the front left cat start to rattle. That means I have a few weeks before I throw a CEL and have to replace.

Has anyone here replaced the front cats and if so what was used and were there any issues?

I have not done a cat replacement yet. In my conversation w/ Rob @Needswings, he suggested to me that when I do the exhaust Mod that I want to do, to use the fully metallic high flow cats vs. the ceramic, because of the very problem that you are experiencing. Apparently the ceramic cores just don't hold up to our output. Here is what I am looking at:
Vibrant Performance ::.
Not sure if this helps you or not, good luck.

I don't know. Perhaps not. My plan, (If I ever recover from this economic beatdown we've been going thru), is to add rear race cats to a set of NW's downpipes. When I drive it on the street, I would simply swap in the stockers.

Not sure that HP in this case is responsible fo rthe cat issues. High milage is one reason for the breakdown, and MB had a history with this engine of failures in the past with the NA version of the motor in several vehicles. Generally the metallic are going to be less expensive so that would be a good option, especially given the milage, but the car is in such great shape and motor is clean as a whistle so I see my ownership lasting a long time.

I wonder if anyone has the flow specs from the oem to be able to find a match?

I have a complete stock SRT6 set of downpipes with cats removed from a low mileage SRT6 roadster. Make me a reasonable offer and pay the shipping cost and they are yours . . .
