Intake
I got that figured out just not what to do about a "scoop" or other device for housing the filter. The biggest thing is needing to cut into the surround at the firewall around the wiper transmission. I have decided that if I cut a 18" section out and weld in a box 18"x14" I can make it work with a K&N filter .........just have not seen a nice looking solution for the bulge or air intake needed to be in the hole in the hood without looking like it doesn't belong. Open to any and all suggestions.....the 1 I had looked at is not esthetically appealing.

( the air would be pulled in to the inside of the filter, the intake would pull from the outside )
Just a thought
On my N/A, I had thought of a 12" round 2-3" high 'can' on top of the manifold connected to the TB via 2 90 deg elbows and a short straight section containing the MAF. The 'can' would contain a flat round 9" filter, and be sealed top and bottom except for a 6-7" round cutout in the top that would connect to the hood via some flexible foam. The hood would then have some louvers in this section ala 50's-60's style.

It never rains in Colorado don'cha know.....but seriously louvers woud be such that the water wouldn't be a problem coming straight down.......just going fast backwards.....ha ha .....that is why I was thinking a small scoop or a baffled cowl induction type of addition to keep everything covered. Was looking at a "shaker style from back in the '70's like on the hemi cude/challenger but it just didn't look right. Also am looking at a cowl that is just 3" and intakes against the windshield.......just don't like a lot of the looks and want to try to stay close to the stock look.
Even better. No cost water injection, worth at least another 20 HP .......
( One warning however, DO NOT drive it in Florida during love-bug season )
