My OEM battery was still going strong at 9 yrs and 70k. I only changed it because I was shipping the car overseas and wanted to make sure I had a good battery when I picked it up... I stuck with the Interstate long life battery. Only difference is it's black vs the OEM white.

My battery lasted 8+years. I bought a Sears DieHard at the local Kmart - $99.00 with core exchange. It is identical to the original down to the swing up carry handles and vapor collector on the end. 650CCA, 3year free replacement. TBW

I replaced the Varta in the black one late last year. Those were great batteries. I'd probably still be going if I ran trickle charge on it.

Fwiw:
The Interstate I bought is MTP-48/H6
770 CCA / 965 CA
85 mo warrantee

I always try to stay the same CCA or higher if possible.

I have a Wal-Mart battery in mine that replaced the OEM one and it has worked great for the past two years.

I would highly recommend the AutoCraft Gold Battery, Group Size 48, 730 CCA from Advance Auto Parts.
This battery is made by Johnson Controls, who also make the OEM White Varta.

Buy AutoCraft Gold Battery, Group Size 48, 730 CCA 48H6 at Advance Auto Parts

These are Engineered with PowerFrame positive grid technology.

Discover the PowerFrame® grid technology :: PowerFrame® TRUE STRENGTH

AdvanceAuto also has the AutoCraft Gold AGM made by Johnson Control.
Notice that the group size for AGM is called H6, which is same as Group Size 48.

UPDATE on 11/9/2014: Use code M42 for 15% off purchase.

I also recommend the AutoCraft Gold Battery from Advance Auto Parts. We replaced the battery on my son's Crossfire last month and it fit perfectly.

Yea someone recommended that too but does not show a match. I will go to wallmart and see if it will work. Its probably the dimension which is the issue that's why.
