Very nice. I like that better than the plastic BMW PS tank.

Nice tank, that is a lot of volume, custom right?

IIRC, Jim posted a video of that tank flowing with his killer chiller hooked up. I couldn't believe the flow; it was like a swift babbling alpine stream.

Interesting. I've never been a fan of the principal of separated circuits unless your wanting to run different coolant/wetter etc. The leaking intercooler issue you mention adds another dimension to the design as well.
...........So when your WOT and your cooler is leaking- say MAP=>16psi - it pumps up your coolant tank/system and then I guess the cap releases at something less than this (even though it's not effectively boiling) - so you get residue/spray coming out everywhere. Wow!
I guess that's one way of confirming you have a badly leaking IC then.

I did have a link to the Beamer PS tank on ebay ~$20 but it's just dropped off my watch list.

What happened to Les was because he was running a BMW PS reservoir tank like myself. They have an 1/8" breather hole in the cap(vented/no pressure). Obviously it would never have spit unless his CAC was ruptured/cracked. That doesn't make the tank a BAD thing. I like being able to open the cap after a hard run at the track and sticking my little finger in to see how warm it is. You wouldn't do that with the engine coolant system. The only negative that I could imagine is the two separate temperatures and pressure differential on the opposing walls of the CAC exchanger. I think Woody may have talked about this a long while back, and is probably where I read about it. IIRC he talked about an accordian like dynamic that could (MAYBE) be working the already thin/weak metal walls of the CAC exchanger. Is this what is causing the failures, or just speeding up the inevitable? Either way, I really would like to get one of Rudy's CAC upgrades, sooner, rather than later. I believe with his, we wouldn't have to be concerned one way or the other about this occurence.
