Default questions about the autostick

hi everyone, I have a question about the auto stick. I need to know why when in manual modemy transmission prevents me from upshifting when my foot is to the floor. It feels like there is a stop or something preventing the up shift until I let off of the throttle and even once I do let off the throttle and hit the stick to the side for the up shifts it still takes a moment to shift. The problem I am having is when drag racing for a 20 mile per hour roll,I would like to keep it in manual mode in first gearbut whenever I do I have to let off the gas to shift and in that moment my opponent gains way to much ground. so my question is can I leave it in manual mode so it holds 1st and allow it to shift all on its own?will this hurt the transmission?

It should automatically shift once you hit redline. Is it not doing this? You will not hurt the transmission by putting it in first and letting it hit shift at redline.

Ive never tried hitting the redline in manual mode, what's the red line set at? Have you done it personally with your SRT6?

When drag racing just leave the shifter in manual gear 1. As Itsky said the tranny will shift at redline in every gear. If the issue you are talking about is that the tranny will not shift into 5th after full acceleration This is the tranny programing set by the factory. If you stay on the gas it will upshift but if you let off then it will decelerate.

When you select an upshift, there is still programming in the background determining if the choice you made is appropriate.

If you are at full throttle, and hit the next higher gear before redline, the transmission will wait until redline to shift.

Just like if you select to downshift and you would exceed redline by doing so, the transmission will hold off.

I really wish it would just hold the gear.

If I want to bang off the rev limiter, I want to do that.
