Default Getting the car ready for summer!!!

Hello Gentlemen,

Good morning all,
Yestarday was the first time since last year taking my xf for a boot up and down the street. I have just installed a needswings DCAI also a Waldig Supercooler for the season upgrades. I give it my first run check engine light comes on and BASESP light !! I run it through the scanner an i get a "P0123 Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor/Switch "A" Circuit High " All of a sudden limp mode, the gas pedal has no response. Shut the car off turn it back on engine light disapears so does the basesp and I try to give it another blast again same issue. I was looking at the forums all i find is in need of replacing my throttle body assembly?? Are there any other things i try before replacing???? because i just called chrysler and mercedes and there asking anywhere from $1600-1700 for a new OEM.

Thanks guys

Cant help with the code BUT you can get a good used 74mm throttle body from Ebay under $100.

Is there a certain one I should be looking at? Possible to pm me a link. I dislike the fact that because of a faulty sensor I have to change the entire throttle body. Stupidness

74 mm Throttle Body, Mercedes #A113 141 01 25
Put the part number in Ebay and several will come up. Don't forget the new O-ring. I would make sure that is the problem first though.

I think I've seen more cases of the pedal assy being the issue rather than the throttle body.

It's the pedal assembly. Had to do this fix for someone last year and I vividly remember that code.

Is this the right part, is it complete? The auction says ( 2004-2008 CHRYSLER CROSSFIRE SRT6 OEM GAS PEDAL ASSEMBLY USED INTACT ), don't know about you but they only made srt-6's for 05 and 06. Does the assembly part number match all versions, and is the assembly able to be taken (broken) down any further, (because) they took it out of a N/A 2004. Check, recheck, and email them with a question or two.

Same gas pedal for all Crossfires, GraphiteGhost. The part that fails is a sensor with a coiled copper band inside on the top part of the assembly. It's nearly impossible to find just that part by itself and cheaper/easier to replace the whole assembly. Better have a chiropractor on call.

Thanks Chuk, just trying to 'look out' for the members. My ignorance spoken was out of caution, not interference. Sometimes, the ebayers tend to sell things not quite what they say. Especially if the pedal assembly was able to be broken down more. Its all good!

Folks, I thought I'd jump in on this post since I also just encountered the P0123 fault code on my SRT6 that I purchased a few weeks ago (no mods that I am aware of). The gas pedal was unresponsive while driving at times, and when pushed to the floor while in neutral or park would get no response. I restarted the car and same thing. I drove home and by the time I got home everything seemed to be good again. I checked the codes and P0123 came up. So, first thing is to check this great forum for info. From what I have read, the most likely (but not for certain) root cause is the pedal assembly. I found this on ebay and just want some confirmation that this is the best course of action for my situation. Thanks!

Okay. I received the replacement pedal today and I will install it tomorrow and reply on my results.

Update = fixed with gas pedal replacement. Easy fix when you have the knowledge that this forum provides!
