Default NW's Larger Intake Manifolds Question

Just wondering if someone can clear up alittle confusion i have about the NW's larger intake manifolds.

Obviously with them being larger, they decrease the amount of pressure (psi/boost). So in my mind, the alledged horsepower "gains" from the larger manifolds seem to just be replacing the horsepower thats lost from boost lost.

So for those running a 65mm pulley, you may normally see about 17/18 (ish) psi. After installing the larger manifolds, your still spinning the SC at that same higher rpm while decreasing the psi.

Someone care to clear my way of thinking up. Im not an engineer.

THe lower restriction mani allow less restriction and more flow that reduces the back pressure at the sc. This makes the boost look lower and reduces the boost reading but increasing the cylinder filling and torque = power goes up and sc has less power needed to drive it. Win win. Enjoy Woody

Woody is correct as usual. I use the stock modified manis because of increased flow and an increase in torque. Besides, they look stock...lol

Rod, Boost is a restriction. Make the inlets to the intakes smaller and the boost goes up but the power goes down as the air becomes heated and less dense. Anytime flow is increased boost goes down but the volume per psi goes up and is denser. After having then stock intake of I don't understand why a ported lower "Y" pipe and thee enlarged inlets to the plenums do not add more than the 8whp or so I see, I would think 15whp+ would be in order. then Rob's shop must intake match he inlets to the ports heading to the valves. Still a good question. A google search would give a nice reason and maybe tips on how to get more power, I'll look!

Rod, are you going to stack the 178/65? If so and you sold your 550c inj's the ones I got are used in that u-tube flick and I got them new for $225. Exact same thing they were using in that u-tube flick were from E/C and not sure what they get for them, probably more than $225.
