Default 2015 Winter "Motor Mods" complete

Looped, Fuel Rail, 62mm Steel Pulley, New NGK Plugs, Magnecor Wires, Tweaked AMG Manifolds, NW Cork Gaskets, SS Manifold Bolts, Oil Press Gauge, Trans Temp Gauge, Fresh SC Oil, Fresh Motor Oil, Bosch #10 Pump, 440cc Deatchwerks Injectors, and ran a vacuum line to AEM Fuel Pressure Regulator. Rob says to leave that port open as it reads atmospheric pressure, but I called AEM themselves and they said to run a vacuum line to it as the regulator is 1:1 which for those that don't understand- the fuel pressure will increase 1psi for every pound of boost.

Non related motor mods completed are New Ceramic Brakes and Drilled Rotors, All New Tires, Custom Hood Vents, and Custom Gauge Console

Pending Mods- custom carbon fiber chin splitter.

how are you now dealing with the vacuum that the regulator is now seeing that it never did before?

Havent turned the key over yet. Havent got with Jerry yet to send me a tune adjustment. My plan is to put a canned tune in there just to get it running and check for any possible installation errors before I take it to PowerHaus Performance in New Jersey to get dyno tuned.

A canned tune is not going to run with correct AFRs if you have vacuum referenced the fuel pressure regulator. The stock system is not vacuum referenced.

By all means correct me if im wrong, but I would assume that may be the case for a stock fuel setup with the internal regulated filter, but wouldnt that be different with the external aem regulator? The regulator is designed for that. Also makes me wonder if thats why members with 550cc injectors are having trouble running rich at low rpms because they are increasing the fuel pressure to compensate WOT. With no vacuum, the regulator is still dumping at that same psi at lower rpms. With the vacuum line installed to the regulator, this would allow for Robs suggestion of 56psi for idle, and when in boost the regulator will self adjust accordingly.

The regulator may be designed to run fixed or vacuum referenced fuel pressure, but the TUNE is written for fixed (fixed relative to atmosphere) fuel pressure. A tuner could probably create you a tune for boost/vacuum referenced fuel pressure, but that is not how the stock tune or canned tunes are.

Jerry confirmed that he cannot tune AFR's that are always moving. He also.suggested to remove the vacuum line. Thank you. Really thought I found the solution. WRONG lol

Love your interior setup with extra gauges. How did your create the center A/C vent delete panel? - Very nice…

What are the six gauges monitoring?

Thanks. I believe I did a write up on how I made it. I think it was titled "DIY Custom Gauge Console." But the guages are AFR, Fuel Pressure, Boost, Oil Pressure, Trans Temp, and Volts.

'Custom Center Gauge Console' actually.
