Default Powerloss - guidance from the specialists

Hi guys,

I am experiencing an issue with the srt-6. When I go in 3rd sometimes (not everytime, mostly if I have done a couple of pulls, temp is normal) it feels like the supercharger shutsdown.

What i have tried so far:

1. I have changed the ic pump - it runs better but did not solve the issue.
2. I have resoldered the RCM (if that had any impact I dont know but I did it) Runs better but did not solve the issue.
3. I checked the fuel pressure and it looks fine, so I guess the Pierburg fuel pump is still working fine. Also, it should be happening all the time if it was the fuel pump... or at least I think.
4. I did a throttle reset according to the guide.

So anyone think it could be the pedal sensor going bad? Something with the sc pulley not engaging? Anyone got other ideas?

Very much appreciated to get some help.

/ Philip

Electronics are not my strength, but a year ago when I was shopping around for a SRT, a dealership in Nebraska had a silver sapphire SRT.

When I spoke with the salesmen, he had mentioned that service was fixing a acceleration issue. I had read about the IC pump issues, and assumed that would be the correct fix. However he had explained later trying to complete a sale (after my current purchase) that the accelerator pedal was in fact the culprit this particular time. It almost appears the pedal and sensor are one entire unit, but I could be mistaken.

Good luck with your search, maybe this will help justify your thoughts regarding this being a pedal sensor related issue.

Thanks for the help and answers.
I went out and did some data logging. I am experiencing high IAT so I think I have a blown fuse for the pump.

I'll keep you posted

You're correct the throttle position sensor is built into the accelerator pedal.

Au contrair, mon amee !!!!
The TPS IS in the throttle body, pop the black cover off and you will see it with it's 3 or 4 wiper arms .....
The accelerator pedal also has a rheostat that tells the PTCM the pedal position.
The PTCM takes a gander at that, then compares it with the TPS to see it it needs to open or close the TB throttle plate.
Classic "drive by wire".

Thank you George for that clarification I stand corrected your short but precise narrative makes perfect sense in fact a whole lot better since then the article I read on Benz world, how else can the computer make proper fuel calculations without knowing what position the throttle plate is in. That's the great thing about this forum, when a member bobbles the ball there's always another there to back him up and make the play at first,

I'll bleed my system tomorrow to see if that helps.
Thereafter I shall also test if the pump is running
1. Check fuse
2. I did the "pump on all the time mod" today
3. Check connections down at pump

after that we shall see the verdict.
May be that I am getting a new pump, again.

Try a dab of dielectric grease on the fitting that has the 2 wires right behind the SC pulley, worked for me!

It is just me being stupid. I had too old coolant (mixed probably aswell) and it had started to foam up. I just had it at the garage and they have cleaned the hell out of it and bled it so now it goes perfect! So happy right now. Also credits to u guys and Rob at NW and Latemodel for the first hand help.

ENjoy the new season!
