E85 stock?
E85 stock?
Hello,
I am in need of running higher octane in my SRT but the race fuels around me are about 10.50/gallon.
So E85 is my next option. I know that on our cars it does not specify anything about E85...
BUT if you take a look at
https://propelfuels.com/vehicles
they do list the C320 3.2L 2003-2005 as being flex fuel ready. As far as I can tell we have the exact same engine and parts as the 320... so being that, maybe they don't list the crossfire as e85 because it is an uncommon car?
someone correct me if i'm wrong. But i'd be willing to try it out. All I believe I'd need is an E85 module from one of those companies. (Increases the PWM signal % to the Injectors allowing for E85 to correct A/F ratio)
I appreciate any input from you guys! thanks.

Re: E85 stock?
First, I think the list is either wrong or incomplete.
Why would the slk320 be ommitted ?
I would call them at the number on the web site with your VIN and see.
If so, then the prudent thing to do would be to contact http://www.eurocharged.com/ about a tune for E85 fuel.

Re: E85 stock?
Alright so I've contacted EC and I've looked through the MB forums and have come up with a couple of things.
EC told me that there is no way to directly tune stock E85 without getting the module that increases the PWM signal. They can make a tune for E85 acting like race fuel because of the 105+octane you can run higher boost and advanced timing, but they can't change the ECM to add the 30% additional fuel correctly.
The MB forum, people have stated that their C32 AMG manuals "specifically" say do not use it. Only certain models are able to use it. Looks like the c320 sport editions. These models which use the 3.2L have a module that detects how much ethonal is in the fuel and adjusts accordingly. Furthermore it's to be believed they have fuel lines and pump that are coated with teflon to reduce corrosion from the hydroscopic ethonal.
Well that answers that. Oh well time to keep searching!!
