Default Seeking knowledgeable advice on SRT6 purchase.

Hi all, i an seeking some experienced advice please.
I have found a 2007 SRT6 convertible with 130,000km on the clock. The car is a one owner, older lady owner car. It has always been meticulously serviced and maintained. Apparently there has never been any repairs required and has never missed a beat. I am concerned that with 130,000km on the clock will all the common issues soon pop up? Also wondering what an estimated cost to repair all the common faults would cost? If the costs aren't too expensive then i may be concerned for nothing. Thanks in advance.

The first question, how much is the car? The cheaper it is the better as the part costs may add up. Getting parts in Oz is a problem because they cost a lot to import, maybe the SRT owners there can give you good advice. I would hazard a guess that the little old lady from Pasadena has probably forgotten what was repaired or replaced, maybe just minor parts but little untruths often hide bigger ones. That is about 80,000 miles so I am sceptical about the no repairs statement.
There is a few posts that tell you what to look for in a used Crossfire, I’ll add the links to them.

Thanks for your response. A brief discussion on the price has occurred but mainly talked about the current price range from cheapest to highest. No firm price set yet.
I too found it strange that no repairs have been done and perhaps she forgot but she seemed to have an excellent knowledge of her car. Thanks for the leads, I'll have a look.

A firm price has not yet been set. We have only spoken about the large price range that they have recently sold for. Ill have to have another chat or go through the service history to see if she forgot some repairs. Thanks for the leads, I'll have a look.

OK, i have attained the documented service history for this SRT6 roadster. A summary of the service history is as follows:

@ 25,000 km (approx 15,600 miles), replaced wiper arms and air filters.
@ 58,000 km (approx 36,250 miles), replaced tyres.
@ 78,000 km (approx 48,750 miles), replaced coolant temp sensor and drive belt.
@ 84,000 km (approx 52,500 miles), replaced A/C heater valve.
@ 95,000 km (approx 59,375 miles), re-fit rear window.
@ 102,000 km (approx 63,750 miles), replaced washer pump.
@ 120,000 km (approx 75,000 miles), replaced both rocker cover gaskets and battery.

The car has been very well cared for and is a credit to its current owners.
I was hoping I could get some advice on what additional, inevitable repairs (and costs) I am likely to incur in the near future.
This will help greatly with working out a fair price for all.

I'll sincerely appreciate any response.

Any repairs required are hit and miss. Some people have issues and some do not. Most repairs you can do yourself if you are somewhat mechanical and can find parts. Most parts are available from Mercedes and others are not, especially body parts as they are exclusive to Crossfire. The link from onehundred80 will give you a treasure of information for repairs and everything else. Some people have gone high millage without having issues. By 2007 a lot of the bugs had been worked out. I didn't think they built STR6s for 2007 so you might want to check the actual build date on the door jam?

In some countries you could find what is referred to as a 2007 SRT6, they could be a 2005 or a 2006 model year but first licensed in 2007.
No 2007’s were actually made.
Is it an actual SRT6, one with SRT stickers on it or just a mistaken identity?

Using the cars VIN number and info on this site I found out it is actually a 2005 build. From all the photos and paper work it seems to be a legitimate SRT6.

I consider myself somewhat mechanical. I have a few 70's built cars and do all of the basic stuff. My limitations are usually not having the right tools or a hoist.

You should be able to do most any repairs yourself.

You can do just about anything without a hoist! Many tools are available through Harbor Freight or Amazon at a reasonable price

I have a 6 roadie with 140K and a N/A coupe with 170K on the clock. no real issues at all. I live in perth and use them as my daily when home. if you can get the 6 for under 20,000 go for it. they are worth every penny.
