Default Highway handling

New to us 05 SRT6 coupe...64000 miles...was having pretty pronounced highway 'wandering"...tar strips, etc...replaced dampner...improved but not gone. As a comparison our 2013 MINI Countryman (99,000) is rock solid at 80...2 finger touch on the steering wheel. Where should I be looking for a solution. Stock suspension and staggered 19x8.5/20x10 rims...235 Potenzas in front (7/32) and new 255/40-20 Barus Bravius in the rear...

Just went through something similar. Put two new tires on the rear which are an exact match Michelin SS4 of the front and had everything aligned , Now you can even let the wheel go and the the tires track as when my car was new. I bought it new so I can relate to how she handled then. It now has 20945 miles on it and she is still a beast.

With the two Crossfires I own, both wandered when I first bought them. Tires made both issues resolved. As you said, the dampers helped, but tires put it to rest.

i purchased my srt6 roadster a while ago it had about the same mileage as yours and needed tires very shortly after the purchase. it made a world of difference in handling and tracking. i ride the expressway at high speed everyday and my srt6 is very steady and straight lined.

I had this problem before years ago it was my rear tires as well. I had 285's on the back of the stock wheel.

What kind of wheels do you have because they are obviously not stock?

So imagine my surprise. after rechecking the tire pressures...left front was 6 lbs low....reset all pressures to 38 PSI now its back to a 2 finger ride!!! alignment scheduled for next week as final touch!
