Default Boost Gauge Bug Fixed

New Split Y from Intake Manifolds
I don't know if any of the SRT6 guys had this problem before but finally, after so long, I was able to fix my boost gauge readings issue. My boost gauge was originally installed on my SRT6 when I bought it. However, despite I upgraded the stock supercharger pulley with a 65mm, the max boost reading I seen is 14 psi at WOT.

After reading a couple old treads I find out that if the gauge fitting is installed in just one of the intake manifolds, I would get partial reading of the boost readings out of the charger.

So, today I got new lines, fittings and the tools needed to fix it. I carefully drilled and tapped another fitting in the other intake manifold. Then, I connected both lines coming from the intakes with a Y fitting as shown in the picture. Then, I just reattached it back to the line coming out of from the gauge. The result were positive. I finally got better and accurate boost reading. Now, the gauge shows up to 10psi in a mild/short acceleration and up to 16psi of boost at WOT.

So, within the next weeks I will be replacing my cheap eBay boost gauge with a new digital Prosport Evo gauge and a Prosport A/F gauge. They will be pairing my existing Prosport AIT gauge in order to proceed with my fuel mods and 63mm supercharger pulley. I'll keep you posted!

Interesting......... glad to see you got it sorted. My boost gauge was tapped off the lower Y pipe, which makes for a clean installation, Needswings sells the Y pipes with a threaded boss in them for this purpose, in case anyone else is interested.

Actually, I seen the boost fitting installed down in the Y Pipe before and originally I wanted to do it like that. However, IMO that's the right/hard way to do it due to fact that you had to remove more parts from the car to accomplish the same result.

So, I went the easiest way since my car already had one fitting installed in the driver side intake manifold. Actually, it was a straight forward mod that can be done by anyone who doesn't have the skills, tools or time to tap a fitting down on the Y Pipe or buy it with it from NW. Enjoy guys!
