Default oil filter

As a first time SRT-6 owner, does the SRT use the same oil filter as the NA?

Yes, the cheap-assed paper one that collapses under the pressure.

So go with the Mann Fleece filter like we do with NA's.

These are re-boxed Mann Fleece filters you can by locally for around $12-14:

Thank you, I also need to check the power steering fluid. Does the air vent just pull out to gain access to it?

That I know but there is a plastic intake tube above it. My question was can that just be pulled out of the air breather or must the air breather be removed? I just don't want to break anything as I figure it out. Thanks for any feedback.

I just skirted around your “air vent” wording as I did not know what you meant by it.
The intake concertinas so you can remove it from both ends.
