Stranded, need advice
Hello. I’m currently stranded with my car. The check engine light came on so I went to see what it was with a new OBDII reader. I was unfamiliar with it and accidentally cleared the engine code P410. Now the car will start, but it runs choppy and the accelerator pedal does nothing. It drives about 2mph down the road but it breaks down a lot I want to know if I can fix it somehow from where I am. It’s an 05 SRT-6. Thank you

Tundra, P0410 relates to the air pump that starts up when your car is cold and it inject air into the exhaust. It is located in the front left fender under the hood on a SRT6. There are several things that can give cause problem. You should first try to replace the RCM. That could be the heart of your problem. There are relays in there that may be causing not only the P0410 code, but other problems as well.
I replaced the relay in the RCM a couple months ago, the problem didn’t go away like I had hoped. I don’t know why clearing the code would suddenly cripple the car, but I was hoping there was something I could do just so I could drive away from where I am now.
The air pump is not your problem. Instead of replacing the relay you should have replaced the entire RCM. Was your car hot and did it stop running at a traffic light or something.
I do not know of anything that is simple that will just fix your problem right now. It could be the CPS crank position sensor, The MAF , The foot peddle itself, throttle body, or even a transmission problem, which again goes back to the RCM.
without any other codes it is really hard to say were to look.

I was waiting for a service call for a job and while I was waiting I decided to see what the check engine light was about. After I checked it with the OBD tool the car stopped working. No issues before that event.
Ive not heard of someone plugging a reader in and causing a problem. That just does not sound likely.
And as said above, the 410 code won't stop the car from running well.
I'd shut it down and disconnetc the battery for 1/2 minute or so. Reconnect and see what you have. Could be the ECU is off in space and could use a reset.
Other than that, it's time to look at basics: You know you ahve spark cause it's running. I wonder what the fuel pressure is - very low pressure will give you the symptoms you have, another cause can be a messed up throttle body.

I’m leaving it overnight with the battery unhooked, and I ordered a new RCM. Hopefully one of those things ends up working. Thank you all for the responses, I’ll be sure to check for other potential issues as well.
Tundra, when you get a chance send a PM private message to: tighed1
He is in AZ and repairs RCMs. He will completely inspect your RCM and make all necessary repairs and add a new function so your horn will work even when ignition is off. Many of us keep a spare RCM and a CPS ( Crank position sensor) with the car for just such times as you find yourself. He has very fast turn around times.
