Goo-Gone... find it in basic department stores like Wal Mart, etc.

Use it on a paper towel and let it dissolve the sap, then CAREFULLY wipe the area until there is none left. DO NOT SCRUB or you will make swirls in your paint.

After you get it all off, then re-wax the car.

Hope that helps.

rubbing alcohol is the only product to use. this will safely dissolve the sap.

pour/apply the product on a towel and rub lightly allowing the product to do the work. once removed... polish & wax the area.

the sooner you get it off... the better. it will etch/raise the paint under the sap.

i had owned a highline detailing business for over 10 years... trust me on this one.

A little squirt of WD40 and a soft cloth may help as-well (test it on a painted area inside the door-jamb to be certain it will not harm the paint... NOTE: paper towels may cause scratches as they are made of paper.

Be sure to apply a few coats of wax at the location as the WD40 will remove the sap and the underlying wax.

~ it may have etched the clear coat... try a polish to aid. you may need to have the area wet sanded and buffed.

Will the alcohol trick work on the roadster top fabric?

side note -
I finally convinced my wife to take out the pine tree next to the driveway!! Soon there will be sap no more ...
