Whew!!! I just finished with my black paint rehab...last hour in the garage under the lights too...

I tried the Turtle Wax ICE products, the soap, the polish, and the detailer. I clay barred it too.

I finished it all off with Meguiar's Gold wax. Looks good for now, have yet to see it under the sun, which is the real test.

I put real sweat into this one, there better be no more swirl marks!

Cool Re: Finally Detailed

If you had swirl marks prior to your detailing task, you may have only minimized or covered them. The next time you wash your car they may reappear. To get rid of the surface swirls you will have to use a buffer and the proper products. If you still have swirl marks go here for info.

I have 2 black cars, i get rid of most swirls by claying and then follow with Meguiar's cleaner wax, polish wax, and then Meguiar's NXT. I also used Meguiar's ScratchX on the bad spots.
Keeping it clean in between washes Adams Detailer works best for me.

I took some pics today...I think the paint turned out really nice!!

Once again, I used ICE wash, Meguiar's Clay, ICE polish, and Meguiar's Gold Class Wax.

Coming from you Andrew, I consider this the highest compliment possible.

Mike (irafatsar) was telling me about your car the other day, I guess I was inspired...

Wow, your car looks great! My car came with a BAD case of the swirlys. I just came back from the best body/paint shop in town and he said that mine was so bad there's nothing he can do other than a repaint. Actually, it looks as bad as the example on Meguiar's website.

The only bad thing about mirror clean black paint is that every speck of dust shows!! California duster in the morning, but as soon as I get back to my car after work, it has a layer of dust on it!

Yeah, but it's worth it.

Good job. Black is hard to take care of but it looks sooo good when it's done right.

Got my car back from the dealer today....what was supposed to be a 3 hour repair turned into 24 hours. Got my car back with black finger prints all over the interior. Oh well, I guess it could be worse, like when they broke my cup holder.
