Default what service does my car need, a spanner and smaller spanner ontop

Hi guys,

I'm taking my crossfire into dealership for service Friday, wondering what service type it is, it's the second service and on the dashboard there is a picture of a spanner and a small spanner ontop, is this a main service as dealer said if it is it's going to cost double if it is.

Yeah, that's a Schedule B service. Costs a lot more for just a little extra.

does chrysler have to service it>?, could I just take it to a normal garage do you think?, would they have the tools to service it properly?

Chrysler does not have to do it. I do my own service work (scheduled maintenance) whenever possible. Just make sure whoever you have do it does everything required under schedule B and keep your receipts (if you're still under warranty).

thanks for the advice mate, I appreciate it, is there anywhere where I can see what involved in a b service, theres nothing in drivers manual nor the one i downloaded from here....

I copied this from page 251 of the 2005 Owners Manual:



SCOPE OF WORK FOR “B” SCHEDULE
MAINTENANCE SERVICE
Oil Change
Change oil and replace filter

Maintenance
Rotate tires

Replace dust filter

Lubricate hood hinges, latch, and secondary latch

Reset FSS Display

Function Check
Horn, hazard warning flashers, turn signals, and indicator
lamps

Headlamps and exterior lighting

Windshield wipers and washer system

Check seat belts for damage and proper function

Test hydraulic brakes and check parking brake function

Inspection
Check front and rear brake pads for lining thickness

Check condition of front and rear brake discs

Check tires for damage and general condition

Check tire inflation pressures and correct if necessary

Check major underbody components for leakage or
damage (if there are signs of leakage, determine cause
and repair)

Check condition of front axle ball joints and rubber
boots

Check condition of steering components and rubber
boots

Check underhood components for leakage or damage
(if there are signs of leakage determine cause and
repair)

Check condition of accessory drive belt

Check headlamp aiming, adjust if necessary

Check windshield wiper blades, replace if necessary

Just skip the rotating tires part if you have unidirectional tires!

The service requirements are mostly just inspection items most of which any careful owners keeps a check on anyway. Here's a link to a summary sheet I made a while back if it helps:
