Question Pay a Detailing Shop?

Hi All,

I recently purchased a 2005 aero blue roadster and love it so far. I notice the paint is good, but it seems apparent the previous owner did not polish/wax it. I do not have any of the products/equipment to do a full clay/polish/wax job, and am hesitant to start learning again on this car.

For the time and cost, would getting the work done professionally by a detailing shop (twice a year?) result in an equivalent look? I have no problem with washing and using quick detailer, but I envision a shiny circle of sheet-metal after I try using an orbital. Is there anything special a shop would have to know about our cars?

Thank you for any input,

i have lost the book mark but a member once posted a good website to get quality waxes, polish, cut, compound at a good price.

i recommend you invest in a porter cable DA and some quality supplies and do it your self. no one takes care of your stuff like you will.

enjoy

If you don't want to invest on the right tool, time and detailing products, taking it to a pro should do it. I tried that at first, but I'm never happy with the results. Too **** I guess, so I bought the Porter Cable and I do it myself.

What model Porter Cable do you own? And are you happy with the results?

Thanks

After looking into prices and some instructional videos, I'm feeling a bit more confident in doing a 1-step polish job. I don't want to do my first try on our Crossfire or our Tucson. Perhaps it would be smart to hit the local salvage yard for the cheapest black quarter panel I can find? presumably the make/model doesn't matter as it would just be to get used to the polisher pads?
