Headers anyone???
And It can't be that freakin' bad after Cal Speedway I was in fourth place and the M3 was not even placed because he wasn't qualed in D class.

WAIT... I BELIEVE THE BLUE M3 IS VINCENT SEAH... IN 5TH PLACE...

LOL It is the Blue M3 turbo that was in 5th place #69... Funny how perceptions are skewed... Thank God for official race results... Matt, do you have any smart assed comment now ?

You put race rubber & aftermarket suspension on your car when you don't have the horsepower or the skill to compete with the other racers out there.
Before you start spouting off, you better understand what you're talking about...
There are multiple classes of cars that run at the same time, start at the same time, but obviously finish differently...
Let me give you an example... When you visited the Cal Speedway event, there were about 50 cars running in TT... But there were only about 10 in D class which is where the Crossfire is placed. Even though all 50 cars were on the track together at the same time. There is TTA through TTF and the cars are classed by very specific HP / WT ratios and modifications. The terrific part about running these types of events is that you are on the track with much faster and much slower cars and must really refine your skills to allow passing and pass...
So, if you can understand this slight brain challenge, you'll be OK !!! LOL In the meantime go to the NASA website and look up the rules for TT and you will have an epiphany. I'm actually the fastest Crossfire running road courses in the US as far as I know...

If you had some experience, you should have realized that the 600 hp Corvette Z06's I was on the track with were not racing me... LOL They were passing me...

Please stop with this kids fight! This is actually a good thread. So HDDP last time I posted on the same thread as you I remember you were a person that helped others with their xfires, were you not? I guess I don't know what the problem is with this headers here in Az. do you?
The less funded or newer teams at the back of the F1 grid get lapped by the front at some races - what's your plan msheredy - drop them from the next race?
The best drivers aren't always in the fastest cars and track safety is about all the drivers being aware of what's going on, more than all traveling at the same speed. If something weren't safe then it's the race organizers / officials and the other drivers to call it - perhaps you should have told the race organizers your concerns not the forum...

Anyways this is what I got from the e-mail to those interested:
Hey Paul,
Well we have an SLK32 in here now to build headers on. From what we have seen, they are the same as far as headers go. I'll keep you posted as to when I'll have them finished and see if we can use your car for test fitting. Glad to see your still interested!
Thanks,
Chris

Why re-invent the wheel ?
If you want performance headers it's going to cost you $2,200... If you can't afford that kind of money then you won't get what you are hoping for...

Or do you have a shop that you are working with that had built the headers from the specs from Burns?
I would be interested in more details on the headers - primary diameter, is it s stepped design - A/R, etc? Any pictures of the headers you had built?
Hey, I would like to find out what the course of action would be after buying the short headers vs. the long ones? Can someone explain this to me? Thanks.
So far I know the long headers will need a new custom exhaust (what kind?) and tuning (ECU?) while the short just will bolts in (anything else for the short?).

With the full length (long tube headers) Floored Fab might be able to tie them into the factory exhaust. I really don't know what they have planned as of yet. There is another SLK owner who is looking at the full length units and he is talking about replacing the cats with a couple of 200 cells and a couple of 100 cells units to keep legal with the smog laws so I'm sure this would require a complete redesign of the exhaust.
Chris recommended a shop nearby for the tuning although I can't remember the name at the moment. I'll forward it along later tonight as it is on my home computer.
