Broken screw
Recently purchased some K&N's and everything went fine until I was putting the left cover over the air filter. Seems as if the screw snapped in half (its the one located on the outer left-hand side) while tightening it. Now I did everything right, made sure I had equal torque and fastening them in a criss cross fashion. Now I replaced the screw with another but it doesn't completely compress down, although there is still some torque on it. I was thinking great now I might have an air leak when the air is compressed down into the engine.
Does my assumption hold true? I'm not too sure but, its going into the dealer next week to get looked at. Although its under warrenty I'm sure they will say its along the lines of damaging and won't replace the part.

lol this is not that big a deal ... take it off, dump epoxy in the stripped plastic hole, after it dries drive a new screw in ... repair complete ... just do not overtighten cause it will strip as easily as the plastic did. i just repaired my MB cover in this way since i got it with damage to a few of the thread areas.
