It's all about the NeedsWings Intake. Big him and he might do a Limited/Base version. It made 30 WHP on the SRT-6. Check the threads in the SRT-6 section for more info.

Hey stallion have you had any check engine lights yet on your intake system? Reason I was wondering was because I heard that aftermarket intake can cause the car to run rich and eventually throw check engine...

It does run rich I wouldn't do it on the limited again the SRT6 is set up different but my CIA do a search did nothing but cause codes to trip and problems... I would take it in and have them run a check and every time it was running rich they accused me of beating on it.. I had perfect sensor placement and everything it isn't worth it and the difference you feel is minimal..

The only intakes that will run rich are the runs that locate the filters in the engine compartment. The richness comes from the increased intake temp and flow. With my intake there are no engine lights and does not run rich.

If anyone is interested in one PM me and we can work out a trial price or something.

I've been following the threads of NEEDSWINGS intake pipe. I'm not trying to be negitive, but I havn't seen where it adds 30 HP to the rear wheels. Have I missed something? Could you post up the thread that gives proof of this gain. I like the stock look and didn't figure I would be interested in getting one of his intake pipes, since I didn't think it would add more than 5 to 10 HP. But if it's adding 30 HP to the rear wheels I may have to reconsider my original thoughts.
Thanks, Steve

Steve, check post #33 here:

It's the real deal. I believe it took Chi town's SRT6 1/4 mile time down by 1/2 second too.

Can't believe I missed that. It states 25.82 HP for a bone stock SRT, I wonder if it would gain me that much with the Renntech kit that I have. Correct me if I'm wrong, but think Chi town's runs were after he put on his bigger crank pulley & the intake tube. Thanks for directing me to the thread.

If I'm not mistaken Chi town went down 1/2 second with the intake and another 1/2 second after he installed the pulley.
I'm going to get the NeedsWings intake in the spring. I would guess that you would see even better gains with one since you have the Renntech kit.

I'd like to gain another 1/2 second or so, but I just don't like the looks of that one big 3" pipe on one side. To bad he didn't design it with 3" pipe's on both sides, I'd be probably be jumping right on it. I wish there was a 1/4 mile track around here where I live to do some runs and compare them with my G-TECH meter. There is an 1/8 mile track close by that I'm going to try to go to before the end of the season if I get a chance.
