Hey, Corfire!

I just wanted to give you a belated thanks for setting this GB up for all who participated.

I get a great, big smile every time I crank her up.

The neighbors are even getting used to it!

Brilliant!

The GB from wUnderCarParts has been the best deal out there for the past several months, and Brad has kept the deal in place. It appears that one of his competitors has caught on to the fact that some money can still be made at discounted prices in quantity, as indicated by FTroopChief. I haven't seen any complaints about wUnderCarParts on the Forum. But, it's good to see some competition. Who knows, maybe the price will reduce more, but I doubt it.

Looking foward to "rear hanger fun" and of course the tone.

Peace

I don't think so, buddy. So far as I know, there is no after market exhaust for the SRT6. I could be wrong, though!

I would talk to a local custom exhaust shop in your area, have them put it up on a rack and see what they can do for you. The mufflers for my catback are available separately. They sound soooo good. That would be a start?

oledoc2, have you tried the resonator delete? It gives a very nice growl to the car and if you do the modified manifolds and tune it is even better. I dont have a way to do a sound clip of mine to put up.

Good luck.

It's ON!!
I did not get to drive it yet as it has been raining all day.
But of course I started it up and gave her a few revvvvs.
I was really hoping that it sounded as good as it did because I NEVER want to see those *&^%ing rear hangers again!!!
Can't wait to get her on the road.

Peace
Paul

Paul, sounds like you're a happy camper, now you know why I had mine installed by a pro. Was well worth the $70 and the one time return I had to make to adjust a hanger rattle. How's the little woman like it? Were you able to get a test ride first?

I finally caught up on this thing, Max...I did look at this GB some time ago, you have to modify the fit for an SRT...I have given the resonator some thought...and yes, the manis are on the wish list, so we will keep playing to we get her where we want it....just like to have it all by the Spring Dragon....then a summer of fun

I finally got to drive the car today for about 30 miles, a good mix of driving, some stop and go and a quick blast to around 95MPH on the highway.

It is with regret that I say that I can NOT live with the added drone this exhaust imparts on my car.
As soon as I pulled out of my driveway and headed up the hill I knew I had made the wrong choice for me.

I was with my daughter on the first leg of the trip and we had trouble listening to the radio and talking. I finally just turned it off.

Now I'm a motorhead from way back, and always changed the exhaust on most of my "play" cars, but not since I had headers and steel packs on a 350 Chevy have I been this uncomfortable in a car.
I just could not find the sweet spot anywhere.

Needless to say, I have taken the system off and gone back to the stock exhaust.
Being an ex-musician, my ears now seem to be extremely sensitive to bass tones.
I truely had great expectations for this system from all the positive feedback I read, but it just ain't my cup of tea.

Love the way it sounds sitting and revvvving at idle with the door open, but as soon as you close her up, she hums tooo much for me.

So if wUndercars will take it back, I'll eat my $46 I paid for shipping.

Oh well live and learn.

And BTW it took less than a half hour to remove the Magnaflow and about the same to put the stock one back on, at least that didn't bust my chops.

Peace
Paul

You should have left it on for a while.

The Magnaflow is notorious for being a little obnoxious for a little while, till it wears in over time. Mine was too loud when I first put it on as well.....I remember thinking "damn...I screwed up!". Then after a couple of weeks it mellowed right out. Now it sounds magnificent!

Unfortunately to my ears it wasn't just a little obnoxious....this thing would have to mellow out at least 50% more for me to even remotely think about keeping it on.

It does sound sweet on the outside, it's just the inside I can't take, not sure if that would ever change enough for me.

I only put on around 6000 miles a year, so I'm thinking it will take a long time to mellow, or for me to get used to it.

I realize that everybody here seems to love this system...I guess I will be the odd man out. It IS for sale.

Peace
Paul

Cool Re: Magnaflow Catback Exhaust for $350.

Loved reading these posts - I've had my '05 Crossfire for about 5 weeks now - told my husband this weekend I wanted a little more growl in the exhaust. He was pleased...glad to gain from your experiences.

Paul, I'm really surprised to hear this. Obviously our perceptions vary from one individual to another. I first heard this exhaust on another forum members car, both while following him in my Roadster and while riding in his coupe both on the freeway and surface streets. He had a few thousand miles on his system and it was very quiet on the freeway.

Since installing mine I have to say I absolutely love the sound but I will admit that when at slightly lower revs and easing into the gas, there is a noticeable drone. But only under those conditions. Then again, my wife and I can carry on a conversation at speed even with the top down so it seems doubly odd that you exhaust was so loud as to preclude conversation in a closed car!
