Cool Ebay Short Ram Intake

I'm curious how much horse power can I gain with this setup if any? Now I understand that it's a short ram intake and it's pulling hot air into the intake but it still should pull in more air (CFM). I plan on getting a TVT or Needswings intake but would this be a consideration for a cheap engine upgrade. I would take the engine growl would be a nice addition as well.

That's about $135.00 with shipping! You can spend about that much at Autozone and pickup the Spectre intake. I currently have it on mine and love it! At first I went with the filter inside the engine bay then spent a few more dollars and placed it in front behind the grill. Just get the prices you need and put it all together, which was simpler than I thought. Take some measurements and head on over to Autozone!

I picked that one up, scrapped it. Filters art too large to accommadate space, esspecially on drivers side. Driver side pipe will have to be shortened. Went back to stock setup using K&N filters in the air boxes

I made a very similar setup for mine and got rid of it. Read this :

https://www.crossfireforum.org/forum...ad.php?t=27554

and draw your own conclusions. Yes, you get more air, but the temps are way too high. I removed the little restrictor tubes in the radiator bulkhead and used silicone couplers to adapt to the stock intake tubes after I cut them off 1/2" from the bellows. Not premium, but it looks good and works better.

I think the 134 deg/ 108 deg info is convincing. I'm going to hook up the Nitrod again to see if there is any difference since I removed the restrictions and increased the airflow.

At least it will give me a reason to get out on the highway instead of going straight home!

Mimi05SRT6, how much horse power do you think you gained with this setup? Can feel the power difference with these setup I'm curious what pieces would I need to buy from autozone to recreate this setup? Also the MAF sensor is there any concern with this setup, I'm confused on how this works.

Not sure of the HP gain but I can feel a huge improvement in the seat of the pants and it's more responsive. Well worth it. On my setup with the SRT6, from the engine, I bought the short silicone piece, a 90 degree bend, 45 degree bend, 6" straight piece, the long main piece and the flexible piece to go through and into the front of the engine. I know the Autozone down near me in Orlando had all the pieces in stock. You could use the Spectre filter, but I opted to spend a lilttle more and used the K&N instead. Good luck with what you chose.

Here is the K&N cone filter that fits nicely....
