Guys, Paul is the man! He is a very cool guy and we chatted for almost 30 mins. BTW where can you find the director of business develpment taking the time to fill orders for $200 mufflers! Only at ANSA! Heck I would buy one just because of how cool Paul is, truly a standup guy and this reflects why the products are so good!

If anyone reading this thread is considering this muffler, you will love it. I have had this muffler for almost two years and it still looks like new and sounds great with no drone.

 

how much did it run you to get it installed Lantana.

 

I paid about $70 It is very easy for any good muffler guy.

 

Ok Im glad its low the wife won't know that I got it til the package comes and its on the car.

 

I just recieved mine in the mail, hopefully will install tomorrow. Does anyone know the stock size of the pipes from the cats back? I'd heard they're 2.25 and I may have them changed to 2.5. I'm not too fond of the ansa tips either, so hopefully I will get those swapped out too.

 

I paid $50 ... and it WAS easy for him .... drove it away 45 minutes after I drove in ... and that included the time to pay him the $50 ...

 

Well I recieved my ansa yesterday, paid about 250 after shipping and tax and had it installed today. It took a couple hours for the $150 install (most of it was transfering the stock tips to the new muffler, yes it can be done) The tips only stick out maybe an inch more, but still looks stock. Overall its much louder now, at idle you cant really tell, then step on it and it has a pretty overwhelming sound, the youtube vids barely even portray it. It's a little much for me so I'm trying to decide if I want to keep it. If I could sell it to someone on here who just wants to buy the ready to go modded muffler with stock tips I would. Otherwise I may add a resonator. Anyone interested?

Exhaust tips actually do play a role in the final sound of an exhaust. Where mufflers and resonators take care of the good majority of exhaust pulse cancellation and silencing, the exhaust tip can shape the remaining pulses and accompanying sound as it makes its final exit from the pipe. Much in the same way a Tuba sounds different than a Trumpet, a short megaphone exhaust tip will sound completely different than a long pencil-shaped exhaust tip. Some exhaust tips even add a small resonator to the equation to help mellow and deepen the exiting exhaust note. A perforated tube surrounded by sound deadening material puts one last mellowing touch on the exhaust pulses before they reach your ears and the ears of others.

Anyone that is going to switch out the Ansa tips with the factory Crossfire ones, may want to rethink this and keep the Ansa resonator tips intact. IMHO

Here are a couple of a porsche with a Magnaflow and Ansa. I know that it is not an xfire but I think that these two show a bit of the difference in the harsher sound of the magna vsersus the ansa. It is of course up to the owner what sound they want and this may help with decisions based on the amount of volume/rumble that you want:

I finally got mine installed today. What a difference at lower RPMs. I think the higher RPMs sound about the same to me (and maybe a bit tamer probably due to louder lower RPMs). You can really tell the difference in a roadster.

Also you will notice a nice sound on the downshift side around 2000 down to 1500 rpm's
