oh okay, so the 2" diameter is the larger and the smaller is under 2"?

That is unusual, most mufflers do not have a stepped size like that.

I think the one picture is a bit of an allusion. In the other pictures the pipe looks about the same size. The piece of pipe on mine is the same size as the rest of the system. The muffler is very low restriction and you can hold it up to the light and see right through it. BTW, if you remove all back pressure on a car cammed for street use, you lose torque. You have to maintain some back pressure.

I'm not sure but Frank had a lengthy conversation with Paul B, who is the director of business development for ANSA and he said that the ones he had were the last few available in the US and our actually old inventory.
He also said these were made for the Corvette but as a universal size could adapt to other makes and models.
These retailed originally for around $350 but these last ones are being sold at cost

$201.53 + shipping (+ sales tax for residents of CA or GA)

FP- I was referring to my magnaflow- photo-man had asked about the inlet size on my magnaflow since the one he purchased had a larger inlet to accommodate his larger OEM exhaust pipe. To make things clear on the ansa- Gary is correct it has a 2 step inlet, the smaller size is 1 7/8" the step up size is 2" our exhaust is 2 1/4". What my muffler guy did was cut the smaller inlet off and put the 2' inlet in the pipe expander machine to open the pipe up to fit the 2 1/4' exhaust and eliminate the step down photo-man had observed on Gary's photo. He also thought a 1/4 step down would not effect the hp or torque of the engine but did it to make me happy. One thing I would like to point out the ansa muffler is not stainless but has some type of black coating on it. Hope this clears up any confusion.

FP- I can't believe you have not jumped on one of these. Great sound a little louder no drone. Like Gary stated only 8 left and when they are gone good luck finding one.

I'd love to jump on it, but have to get my skirts painted and installed first.

I would get the muffler while it is still available. You can always paint your skirts. These mufflers can't be all that old. When I bought mine, I got the last one in stock a year and a half ago. I dealt with a very nice woman who called me a few months back to let me know they had some more but wanted to get in touch with the Crossfire crowd since I was very happy with mine. The black wrinkle coating is very good and after 17 months still looks show quality. the only difference I am seeing in some of the pictures is that mine came with the classice Ansa stickers on each side of the chrome tips and after many washes and the heat of the exhaust are still looking like new.

I called Paul today to order my muffler, and ended up having quite a good chat with him! He said he was going to give Gary a call, to ask if he had installed his muffler and if there as any drone issues like the magnaflows. I suggested he check the forum for Gary's install pics. He says he has only 16 left and msrp is $335, so $201.53 is not a bad deal. Also he said these are made in Italy. Website states they are stainless internally with an aluminized shell.

Ya , I was thinking of calling Paul and telling him how pleased I am with the sound of this thing !!!
I will definitely call him tomorrow as he probably has no info to contact me available.
I bought mine from Punkin a few days after he bought it from Paul.
Punkin has a SRT6 and was unable to use it.
You will love the sound of this thing I'm sure !!

That's a big plus ... not only does it sound great ... not only is the price very favorable ... there IS NO drone ... and that's been true for each of us who've installed one of these on our cars ...

No drone here either and I have had mine on for a year and a half. Great exterior finish and still looks like new. The best thing is the sound!
